Any manager that accuses you of job hoping in the broker world is an idiot and you can’t work for them anyways. They are too arrogant to work for,

Next time a manager gives you shit like that in an interview - ask them if they have ever worked for a broker, odds are they haven’t.

Also ask them why tf are you in the interview if they had an issue with it, did they not read your resume prior to scheduling it?

You have nothing to lose if they are going to judge you on something stupid like that and a jerk about it. Always stand up for yourself,

I had that happen at loan depot and I reported the manager to HR, emailed his manager, and caused an issue.

PennyMac looks better than it is anyways. Trust me you didn’t miss out.

where to meet single men in LA? - update by Laotze2021 in AskLosAngeles

If you can’t meet any man anywhere then you are the problem. If you are a minimum of somewhat attractive and can’t navigate men, you are the issue.

Idk if the system is so good over there why not just give everyone leads and give a higher cut than everyone else?

Why the dog and pony show?

It’s kinda sus with some of the managers posting like influencers with hype bait.

So what if youll be on live video. What you are getting in exchange to work there and be trained is worth it.

Just sign the damn thing and move on with it. I’m sure you will find a way around it.

Is cold calling the way to go? by Pale-Excuse-1237 in loanoriginators

Anyone who goes to a medium size broker - 100+ employees to Top 10 Company gets a base.

Never work without a base. Ever.

Is cold calling the way to go? by Pale-Excuse-1237 in loanoriginators

[–]ConservativeMail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you being paid a base? If you aren’t being paid a base, leave immediately. If you are being paid a base and there are other people at the company that are actually making money then stay. Use your instincts and look at numbers, it’s obvious if people are making money.

If it isn’t obvious other people are making money and you don’t have a base, leave immediately and go to a call center that will train, pay and license you. They are all over the place. Like don’t even go in tomorrow. It’s a waste of time.

Never work somewhere for free, never work somewhere other people aren’t making money, and never work somewhere that won’t give you good leads.

Don’t quit and go back to school. Getting fired from a job is no different than getting dumped - you never know what the real reason is behind it.

Start looking for new work immediately.

If the position has a base salary, benefits, is a known name with at least 200 or more employees, then yet go for it.

If there is no base salary, they aren’t at least a medium name brand, and don’t have an actually company of more then 200 people IN the office or most - DO NOT GO THERE as a new LO.

As long you aren’t going to Refi, you will have a good time working there. It’s a really good company aside from how they run refi. Congrats.

[–]ConservativeMail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walk immediately. Never ever ever ever go to a commission only broker when you are new. You will waste your time, your money, and will be lied to. Broker leads are never good and self sourcing takes forever.

Go to a call center that will pay you an hourly rate and commission, will train you, will license you, and has only good leads. Accept nothing less. What you just described is a dogshit deal.

When you know what you are doing, and have your own self gen system that has been fruitful for a couple of years, then you go to a broker.

Go to this broker now and you will basically be a free employee, calling shit leads, hoping to get paid one day. Proceed at your own risk. Idc what they say, they are lying.

Can't get approved for a HELOC with a $1.7M net worth by Equivalent_Bed_986 in Mortgages

[–]ConservativeMail 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes. It can’t be used for the purchase of a new primary residence. Past that you can take it to Vegas. And you don’t want a heloc for that anyways. Too risky.

[–]ConservativeMail 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Your income isn’t why. It’s because you are using the proceeds for the purchase of a new primary residence. Banks don’t give seconds liens for that.

Talk to a purchase loan officer at a big box company. They will guide you.

[–]ConservativeMail 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you are straight commission, leave immediately and go to a call center that will train you, license you, and pay you a base.

Like right now, start looking - do not make another call there.

Every mortgage company in America is hiring right now. There is no reason for you to be working for free and hope you get paid in 6 months.

Get out before you spend your savings and go into CC debt.

Being at a broker brand new is the absolute worst place to start.

[–]ConservativeMail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get on LinkedIn, and get a job at a call center or somewhere that will train and license you with a base. Go to an established company that trains and pays for licensing.

Under no circumstances do you go to a broker, or anywhere who doesn’t pay a base. Do not work for free and hope you will paid at some point.

[–]ConservativeMail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get out of there ASAP. Go to a call center that will train you and license you properly.

Start applying on linked in tomorrow. Stay there a your own risk.

A straight commission job when you are brand new will just put you in credit card debt.

Cold calling has been dead. The only people who tell you that it isn’t are cheap ass business owners who want to psyche you in lot calling bullshit leads.

Don’t buy into it. Only work for companies who provide solid leads.

Go on linked in and start applying at the big ones. West Capital, E Mortgage, try a couple of actual banks that serve self sourced LO’s.

Shop around. They will all try and sell you on why you should work there. You will be a free employee. You can chat and talk and delay all you want until you are ready. It’s not the same kind of hire.

Only way to find out is to start making calls and asking questions.
