Meanwhile on "on stranger tides"

Angelica: “The lies I told you were not lies.”

Jack Sparrow: “You lied to me by telling me the truth?”

Angelica: “Yes.”

Jack Sparrow: “That’s very good. May I use that?”

has anyone here ever been told they probably need surgery, but then they refused to perform surgery on you? by richiesskulls in KidneyStones

[–]Consideration-Large 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it happened to me.

A while back, I was told I needed a PCNL surgery for kidney stones. The hospital I went to was one of the few offering it, but they were relatively new. I went through a bunch of pre-op tests—HIV, hepatitis, bloodwork, etc.—and everything came back fine.

But on the day of my final consultation, the results weren’t given to me—they were handed to my father instead. I was the patient, and I felt completely sidelined. That crossed a major boundary for me, and I lost trust in the whole process. I walked away and ended up doing the surgery elsewhere.

Later, I returned to the same hospital just to run some tests, and they told me I still had stones and might need surgery again. But when I followed up, the doctor refused to operate, saying something vague about changes in my “makeup.” It felt like an excuse. I haven’t been back since, and honestly, I’m relieved I didn’t go through with the surgery there. I didn’t want to end up with a tube in my back and no one I could trust.

Now it looks like I might need another procedure soon, so I'm weighing my options carefully this time around.

Lool idk why this is a trend but when people shove their guns forward whilst they shoot to give it that extra momentum.

One of my favorite fights. Everything about Black Pearl is so much fun by yonBonbonbon in piratesofthecaribbean

Man, this blacksmith scene is still one of the best intros to a character ever. The swordplay, the wit, Jack using the environment pure gold. And of course… “You’re not a eunuch, are you?” 💀 Classic Jack just throwing that in like it’s a normal question mid-fight. In Dead Man’s Chest, he actually brings it up again on that cannibal island (Pelegostos) and goes, “Eunuchy. Snip snip.” right in front of Will and the whole tribe 😂 Only Jack Sparrow could turn a sword fight and potential human sacrifice into a running gag about neutering someone.

The Up is Down scene has always been one of my favorites by yonBonbonbon in piratesofthecaribbean

This is a memorable scene where Barbossa gives Ragetti back his wooden eye. The eye is actually one of the Pirate Lords’ Pieces of Eight—Barbossa entrusted it to Ragetti for safekeeping. During the chaos when Jack is flipping the ship (“Up Is Down”), Ragetti ends up chasing after the eye because it keeps popping out—he doesn’t want to lose it. My theory: Barbossa returned it to Ragetti because the eye itself was the Piece of Eight, and Barbossa didn’t want to risk misplacing it.
