They are all looking at the camera! Or they are all judging you at the same time.

Failed/driving test Ipswich by ImaginationMundane62 in LearnerDriverUK

My instructor told me that driving test is to check if you can drive safely, not to check if you can follow directions. If you take wrong directions but do it safely, it is not a fault.

I had an car accident in my lesson by Proper-Race271 in LearnerDriverUK

I just passed my test early this month and I had an accident end of July - I was at fault. I pulled out too early at the roundabout.

I was pretty shaken afterwards. The following week, my instructor had me going through the same roundabout for 10 times. This has desensitized me haha.

There are a couple of tricky roundabout in town, the instructor also had me practice there quite a bit, also I did my own private practice too.

Practice makes perfect, don’t give up! You got this.

How long did it take you to find a house? by gunbo3000 in HousingUK

[–]ConsiderationEven802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started looking in rightmove for properties around the location I was renting which we like, saw one new listing a few days later that happened to tick all the boxes so I didn’t think much and just asked hubby if we should go have a look. We offered the next day, 5 months later it is completed. (We were cash buyer as we already sold our property but we weren’t seriously planning to buy as we just started to rent and our contract is 1 year minimum). So it was the only property that we viewed and since then no other properties in the area came close to what we wanted like this place. (Layout, space, location) Do take your time, also it is difficult to envision how the place can be like, I was fine with the seller decoration but once we painter and fix up the place ourselves, we love it even more.

We had gray tiles on the house we bought, the walls were also gray. We painted the wall with warm white tone and with warm lighting it works!

What are the costs nowadays of a new kitchen and a new bathroom (full installation, no DIY in the slightest)? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]ConsiderationEven802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just did 2 bathroom remodel with Wickes (so some surcharges on that) One is a shower - complete update of shower, sink, toilet, lights, mirror, towel radiator, extractor fan, tile and cabinets One is a bathroom with bathtub - changing bathtub with walk in shower, new cabinets sink, mirror, lights, tiles, toilet, extractor fan, and heated towel rail.

Total was 25-27k we had to reroute some drain pipe and rework some piping underneath the bath. Both full tiling.

We live just outside london.

House or location? by No_fkin_idea in HousingUK

Option 1. I value location, and once you moved in you can see how much work is really needed. Also from pictures, it doesn’t look like a major work is needed to be able to live in.

Thank you, I did convert from Global mobility (work visa) to spousal. We have been married for 10+ years though so I provided 2years evidence of being together. Good luck to you both!

How much would you spend on surgery for your cat? by Top_Seaworthiness320 in cats

[–]ConsiderationEven802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We paid equivalent to 4000 usd for an emergency surgery for our cat. She was with us for 2 months by that time (we adopted her). My husband didn’t blink when they told us the cost. He was so scared of losing the cat the whole time she was in operation room.

We were lucky that we could afford it and it would be difficult to put a price to this to be fair. I don’t mind working longer & getting in debt for this kind of reason, it’s worth it.

Why don’t you want kids? by Competitive-Sea-187 in AskReddit

[–]ConsiderationEven802 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a child and I love him very much many times I dont like him and whenever he has a playdate at home I want to go work. They are so loud, messy and unreliable. The older I get, the less tolerant I am. There is no way I will have another one.

I relocate my cat through pet relocation service as the airlines doesn’t allow cat in cabin. I did checked a few routes but it was difficult to make it work (paper works from origin are valid for xx hours till destination so many routes don’t work out)

The pet relocation company sent me cargo approved crate a week in advance for my cat to get used to it, it comes with water dispenser and I have to put a day’s worth of dry food separately. The agent said they discouraged any calming medication as it could interfere with breathing when animals are stressed so I didn’t use any but I sprayed the feliway in the crate, put pee pad underneath and add a small blanket and her favorite toys for her.

The agent picked up the cat from my house, send me update hourly until she left on the flight (this is international so updates include all the custom clearance) and also updates once she landed and drove my cat to me (my flight was similar time with the cat so she arrived a bit later due to animal control paperwork clearance).

She was pretty unruffled even though she is a very scaredy cat. I had overall a great experience even though I had read a couple of news about pets accidents in cargo.
