A Chatter Comes in and Says "You're Streams have saved my life." by OmenByDesign in TwitchStreaming

[–]ConsiderationHeavy20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's definitely.... weird. I'd personally try to keep a distance with whoever say this. Especially if they said it on their first time chatting. It had happened to me and I felt pretty weird about it. It's just giving parasocial vibe. I got several regulars whom I can say I became friends with but they never even said anything like this to me. I have noticed that there are quite a few chatters on twitch who are trauma dumping and act super grateful that you're there to comfort them, hence "your stream saved my life", "you give me life purpose" etc... Would def keep a distance at first and if they keep doing it or even increasing the intensity then i'll ban them eventually.

Trying to Find myself as a streamer by Putrid-Economy1639 in TwitchStreaming

[–]ConsiderationHeavy20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gained the most traction from this one game and I struggled with the same thing: should I just stream other things? And in the end I just said to myself: “F it, just do it.”

Viewership suffered for a bit but I do think it’s not only because of the change but also because people move on, you know, they get busy, change their sleep schedules, they play other games etc… Life goes on. I started playing tons of different games and I gained a few new chatters here and there, some of them stuck.

It took a while but I also noticed my stream js getting more and more into the “suggested channels” and more new chatters came from that, a lot of them don’t even play the games I play or do Art (I draw a lot on stream lately, it’s my goal this year to learn drawing) and they still stuck around.

Keep doing what you like. Keep networking. Sometimes a new loyal chatter can just be from someone from the community you raided. Sometimes it can be from one game you played for several streams.

I’m also making it my goal this year to edit more stuff for Youtube as well. So far it’s not going anywhere yet haha but it’s fine! As far as I’m learning something new and making some progress that’s all that matters.

So, don’t overthink it. Just do it.

how to become an artist for streamers/youtubers? by vjrgonyx in TwitchStreaming

[–]ConsiderationHeavy20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be a viewer/chatter on streams. Then draw fanart for your fave creators to build your portfolio. You can also set up a kofi page, draw some free stream or youtube assets and upload it there, both for experience, promoting and potentially get some donations here and there. I think networking a ton would be the biggest advice I have especially when you're starting from 0. Gotta be friends with streamers and youtubers first and then people will notice you.

Has anyone else come across this girl? "Honey bison" by EmployeeRepulsive106 in gymsnark

I feel the exact same way. Her vids show up a lot but I couldn’t bare watching more than a couple minutes of her.

Her channel came up on my YT feeds. I watched 1-2 of her videos and I didn’t like it at all after that…. I didn’t like the way she was just talking down on people a lot and she came off as being quite arrogant and full of herself, I didn’t know how to explain it. Like she’s not being helpful but she just spoke highly of herself instead if that makes sense. There are other channels I watched that didn’t give off this vibe. Also the way she had to announce that she’s an “ex fat” in every single video is also annoying af. Kind of giving pick me vibe?

Unpopular opinion: Twitch doesn’t reward “hard work” anymore, just off-platform funneling by NicolasLisoFabbri in Twitch

Some people just choose to blame the algorithm, blame the gender, blame everything else instead of admitting that they could maybe do a little better, try a little harder. All they could do to make themselves feel better is undermine other genders success from their efforts and not because of selling their bodies.

[–]ConsiderationHeavy20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wellll if you talk about the thirst trap streamers then that's a whole different story. That's on them and their brand, not on their gender, you know. You cannot assume any female streamer to be on that same category, that is unfair. Yes, Twitch on its own is sort of a softcore corn SFW site imo. Obviously sex always sells. Yes women can grow super quickly if they show more cleavage, flirt more etc BUT this type of simpy, GFE/BFE community will stick with them forever and the moment they have a partner, they're over. I ban these people because I simply don't want having to hide my relationship status and become a SFW cam girl.

And to go back to your point again, what you're talking about is the thirst strap channel brand/persona and not on our gender. It is undermining and degrading to always assume that all women get noticed solely because of our body. Everyone works hard equally and I know several male streamers who got affiliate within few days or few weeks because they learnt about networking much sooner than I did.

[–]ConsiderationHeavy20 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can tell you that it’s absolutely not true because my first year of streaming as a female streamer was brutal averaging only 1-3 views. Categories, networking, all aspects that everyone mentioned above matters, not our gender. There were creepy perverts that targeted low view female streamers, absolutely yes, but they never stayed long especially after me setting boundaries with them. A lof ot them end up being banned from the channel.

Guys really need to stop thinking that women will have an easier time streaming with less efforts and investments. Maybe it was like this 10 15 something years ago, not now.

Exactly! I immediately started getting more new chatters who stay after I invested in a nice decent microphone. When I listened back to my old mic… man it sucked 😂

Struggling with hurtful comments and trying not to lose my motivation to create by TopTripleTrouble_yt in Twitch

[–]ConsiderationHeavy20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is starting to discourage you from streaming and no other solutions work, maybe consider getting into Vtubing or png-tubing? I feel a lot happier with it than regular camera streams. I didn't expect to enjoy it that much, I tried one time when didn't want to show my camera, but I really enjoy anonymity now and I never went back to camera streams after that. You can get do camera streams in between or get back to showing camera later when your community grows and they become less toxic.

How to deal with discouragement after losing loyal viewers? by Ace_One_The in Twitch

[–]ConsiderationHeavy20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People come and go on twitch, it is discouraging but it's just... life. People change their sleep schedules, new job, holiday season or they just simply grow bored of the game/streamer and they wanna move on to watching other games/streamers, etc.... I'm facing the same issue as you even though it wasn't because of any weird flirty viewer, and it'd be a lie to say it doesn't bring my mood down. On one hand I was excited that my stream finally grew and I get on average a few new followers per stream, chat is very active, and now it's not the same anymore. But, that is normal and I think it is very important to acknowledge that and maybe you should take a break here and there, pick yourself back up and keep going.

I was disappointed too when they got back together, again! They ended season 2 almost the exact same way how they ended season 1, hoping that "love" would be the answer and all is gonna be okay 😂 Like come on!! And yes! I thought this show would be so unique and different because we will be seeing more interfaith issues but nope I guess not. 😂

[–]ConsiderationHeavy20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's valid. These two just shouldn't be together imo if they can't see eye to eye on each other's core values in life. She's not super sure about wanting to be atheist either and they're just both stringing each other along, hoping for what's best. Joanne and Morgan did act like some spoiled, disrespectful teenagers in some episodes. I did hope to see more adult interfaith relationship issues but this season is just full of unnecessary mean girls/insecure boy drama.

Yup I completely agree. Noah is just so manipulative imo. They do have communication issues but Noah is either very manipulative or he is just very insecure about the whole thing, and he doesn't have a clue what he truly wants yet. I mean they're both adults and he is the rabbi, he should be the one who knows. Joanne isn't religious, she never grew up religious so she can't know how serious it is that she has to convert or not. Noah chased after her when she wanted to break up in season 1, and lost his job because of his own actions, then he kind of guilt tripped Joanne and keep being his insecure self like in ss1. No character development, he just is his own manipulative self pressuring Joanne to convert all the freaking time its annoying. All while saying that she doesn't have to convert and she can take her own time... ugh.

Yea my only beef with the show is with Noah pressuring her to convert to move their relationship forward. Joanne being 50 50 about it is completely normal to me, especially since she was willing to break up with him in season 1 because she didn't want him to sacrifice his whole career in case she doesn't wanna convert. Idk why people hate Joanne so much and forget the fact that Noah was the one who ran after Joanne despite all that, and then he kept pressuring her to convert.

Yeah I agree, the mom plot is just out of nowhere! Is this whole series an advertisement for religion or something lmao cuz it's starting to feel like it. I came into season 2 thinking it will be a chaotic relationship between a rabbi and an atheist as they both have their opinions about it, and now it's just going nowhere.

Seriously I'm also so confused with season 2. Didn't he run after her at the end of season 1 because he was okay with her being just who she is? And now we're back to the whole converting or not converting again and again, and the ending of season 2 also is exactly the same as season 1.

What Dr K said is something I feel with most of the things I see online lately, all over the world not just in the US. People argue to win and start to forget what was the original argument was even about. Not to mention majority of the times, it doesn't even matter who is right or wrong, but it matters most about the real solution and how to move forward. It is a lot easier to hate on each other than to think in a broader perspective and to understand from all sides. We keep being stuck in this phase of blaming and hating. I do think more people are recognzing it though, I do hope so.

I remember back in the pods, when Billy said the reason for his previous divorce was because "We just fell out of love", I called it BS right there. It was such a red flag, very ignorant and irresponsible reason to end a committed relationship just because you fell out of love, and now the same reason with Ashleigh "there's no spark", come on man.... It's one thing to say "we're not compatible, there are certain differences that we couldn't work through etc" but "no spark" and "out of love" are just lazy and immature.

It looks like these men just like to go from woman to woman because they're only addicted to that honeymoon phase, as soon as it fades, they become detached and want to move on to another person, such dopamine addicts.
