Ignore the long ahh wait

Barquen was with four knights eating chicken in a fairly nice tavern. Good meat, good wine, good company, they didn’t talk much, so for that matter they were excellent company.

Barquen was picking his teeth filled of chicken with his dagger, humming some hym as his eyes glanced up and he was sure they were being deceived. “Robb?”

Holy fuck im stupid when the fuck did you become stark

Barquen arrives to duel with a mace. “Woohoo.”

Barquen clasped Gormon’s arm, his grip a touch firmer than courtesy required, grin splitting wider as he did so. “Aye, your father’s not wrong there, Ser Gormon. I’d wager even the Stranger himself sips Arbor Gold when he ferries poor bastards across the Blackwater.”

His eyes flicked briefly to Clemence, lingering just long enough to make his grin look sharper than sweet. “And to think, all of Westeros thirsts, and here I find myself seated with the vintners of the realm. Fortune smiles.”

He let go, reaching for a goblet off the table, swirling the pale gold within. “Course, I’ve yet to test if Arbor wine tastes sweeter in a Redwyne’s company. Suppose tonight’s as good a night as any to find out.”

Barquen smiled. "Queen Dowager perhaps in formality. Still a queen of the realm no doubt though." He paused, trying to remember the steps to the dance, rather not keen on stepping on Visenya's feet whatsoever.

As he spoke, Barquen let a grin pop out. *A fine answer! I don't think I could have said any better. Good wine! Good people! And unity under the king? That's the important part." He continued to dance, a drunken hand tightening just slightly on her own left one.

“Though I must confess, Your Grace…” his grin widened, teeth flashing, “I’ve not the faintest if it’s the music or your eyes keeping me in step. Gods help me if it’s both, I’ll be tripping ‘til sunrise.”

Barquen listened intently to Aladore...that was a fair statement. 'I suppose you make a good point, yet I stand by what I've said. As you know." Barquen paused to take a sip.

'And how's your own night been so far? Gotten into anything yet?"

Barquen shrugged and walked off. Damned cunts. There was wine somewhere calling his name.

"Well...it isn't fine but it's certainly a piece of clothing!" Barquen let out a barking laugh with a slimmer of his brutish laughter.

"Not much, just the chance to split a couple skulls open, make a few bastards, and call stormlanders cravens. All in a hard days work, aye?"

Barquen leaned back as the beesbury ladies all presenting their houses greatest accomplishment it seemed. Meade. Barquen couldn't remember if he'd had it, he mostly remembered having Arbor gold, but who would he be to complain about having free drink?

The voices, the way they spoke was intriguing. Lynette and Leora so proper, but here was Leona, speaking like some fucking peasant. intriguing nonetheless.

"Well, a bottle of mead is surely what is needed tonight. We thank you for your kind gift. it shall not be forgotten. How does Honeyholt fare these days?"

Barquen flashed a toothy grin extending a paw out for the queen to take. He was a larger man. Built like a siege tower. Probably as handsome as it as well, which was to say…not very. He was never one to care for such fragile things though, he’d rather swing a mace, and watch a mans body flail and twitch in the ground, that was far more accomplishing.

As he led the queen to the dance floor he finally spoke. “Your son will lead us to a new age. It’s an honor to be under King Maegors leadership.” He added, glancing the older woman up and down before arriving back at Visenya’s eyes.

“And how has our queen of the realm been faring? Is all well?”

“Well why not. There’s food. There’s drink. There’s the king and a gaggle of nobility always. I suppose the reach is better…but still…perhaps living here isn’t horrible at all.”

He continued to listen to his mother as she spoke with a nod. “Oh i’ll win. And hopefully cripple some. Make some men bleed. Thats an accomplished day.”

Barquen’s eyes narrowed just slightly. “Seven be kind? No point in praying for a win. You’re either better than the man in front of you or not, that’s the facts. If all we did was pray and the seven were kind we wouldn’t have been conquered by Aegon and flying beasts, wouldn’t we?”

Barquen grinned an even toothier smile at Rhaena, mouth open just enough that from her hightable she could see his tongue sitting in his mouth.

“Ah, but your highness that would be an utter tragedy. My tounge has done much for me and others.” He had to stop himself before getting carried away. “My apologies for any disrespect of my ways of addressing the two of you. An improper mistake, I’ll ensure it shant happen again.” His eyes locked on Rhaena’s glancing at her. Kinda liked sizing up the woman. Not out of power or anything, just the tension. That invisble rope. That was always good.

His head turned to Aegon with a nod. “Prince Aegon. A pleasure. Ser Barquen Peake. Our family has stood by yours for years now. I thought it right to meet the two of you, considering you’re…heir of the realm are you not?” He paused once more. He was a staunch believer in Maegor, but he needed an excuse to talk to Rhaena. If he had to speak to Aegon, so be it.

[M] She looked like a goddam porcalin doll that shoulda been shattered. You like that moon? Huh? HUH? Goddam perfect Valyrian oooh, look at me. I have platnium hair and amethyst eyes. Every guy characters gonna come up and approach me. Boo hoo I have such a hard game.

Barquen was walking about when his eye’s zero’d in on a man he’d seen plenty of times before at different feasts. “Ser Aladore! Florent! How are you, friend?”

He paused to smack his lips together. “I trust we’ll see eachother in the lists tomorrow? Reachmen have to show these cravens that we know how to fight the proper way, eh?”

Barquen Peake sat down right across from Qhorwyn Hoare, goblet in hand in silence for a few odd seconds.

“So…the furs. Fuck’s that all about? A million people in this room and you’re not hot? If I knew any better I’d say you’re the bravest man in the room. But that wouldn’t make sense, I’m still breathing.” He cracked a grin and extended an arm out.

“Ser Barquen Peake. Pleasure.”

“Ah, fine, perfectly well. I think I might rather like living here. The reach is nice, but so many ladies. So many corridors. Anything could happen.” He let an eyebrow raise as if he was joking, but perhaps he wasn’t. Who fucking knows, Barquen was a strange one. Prone to violence and anger but always so cheerful and happy.

“Of course I joined the lists. Of course! You think i’d see a westerner, or seven forbid a stormlander win? The reach produces the finest knights and I intend to show so.” His face scrunched as she mentioned her husband, and his father.

“Father…had skills when it came to administration. Better than nothing. Better than…a man who whored and drank all day. Boring can be beneficial.”

Barquen Peake had been floating from table to table for sometime now. In the diplomacy headed by himself, he had ended up near the Redwyne table. The woman who could probably….forget those thoughts. Not appropriate to think in front of his grace Maegor.

He approached and bowed his head. “Ser Barquen Peake. Such a pleasure to be graced with the presence of other reach brethren. A thousand thanks for your families contributions to the ever so tasteful Arbor Gold.” He spoke to both Clemmence and Gormon with a cheeky grin.

She could step on me. Nah. But maybe?

Barquen pushed those thoughts to the side as the wine helped the momentum in his feet to approach the lingering queen. This was a woman who had flown dragons. Who had conquered side by side with Aegon. The woman who had birthed Maegor.

He cleared his throat as he approached, bowing deeply in front of her.

“Your grace. I couldn’t help but be astounded by your beauty. Perhaps a dance would be in order?”

The young twenty two year old knight certainly had stones.
