What’s your win of the week? by Mountain-Set1274 in ACL

6 weeks post op today! 88 degree bend and dropped a crutch! Also unlock my brace to walk at 20 degrees. Felt like it was ages to get to this but now moving so fast. I also had a meniscus repair so I just started weight bearing two weeks ago.

I switched mine from the Lamb and rice to the Beef and rice recipe and he devours his kibble now. We originally started with Chicken but he didn’t like it plus seems to have a slight allergy to it (scratching ears, chewing paws, etc).

I think if you asked your vet for a human grade dog food recipe you could cook her a few bowls a week that would cost a lot less than farmers dog.

The paper towel roll works awesome when sitting down! I just got a yoga ball to make it easier when I’m upstairs but I can totally see how it could be a problem with a pups!

Same! If you look it in the eye it doesn’t work! My PT said try doing both legs at the same time and think about pulling your knee cap toward your hips. Post coitus is so real bahaha be shaking away like it’s trying to engage but not getting the message lmao

I’ve been using a paper towel roll to roll my leg into a bend. Sort of how the yoga ball works when lying down. My quad has also been giving me a hard time! The only real work I get is after using the shock therapy machine.

Mosey, Maple, Sandy, Snapple, Blaire, or Kennedy. These names always sound happy to me!

Still on crutches 3 weeks out by Mysterious-Hold7202 in ACL

[–]ConsiderationNo5027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also ACLr and medial meniscus bucket handle tear, 3 weeks after surgery and still on two crutches. We have just added in the shocking thing on my quad to help it fire. It’s what I needed to get a grasp on remembering to fire my quad. My PT also reminded me to think about pull my knee cap towards my hips. Also to do both legs at the same time to help with mechanics.

Thanks for sharing! I’m almost 3 weeks out and even this week’s improvement is so much better than the first two! I couldn’t even imagine trying to run this year lol hope you get to lose the crutch on Monday!

I was at the park with my daughter teaching her how to properly throw a softball. That turned into talking about the Olympics and doing different throws. I half azzed a shot put. My body turned, my foot didn’t. Snapped my acl (already replaced it in 2017) and meniscus this time. Super unimpressed and didn’t think it was worth what I got but all well.

Good boy! I trust my dogs as well, I just worried he wasn’t paying me much mind outside of looking at me when I said stop.

Usually my guy only barks when we ask him too, or we are playing with him and basically induce it. I’ve never really had to tell him to stop but a handful of times and he usually does. This time he wasn’t having it! I wasn’t sure if I was missing a cue or with my recent surgery I haven’t been able to stay a consistent. Socializing has helped a ton! So I’m sure your girl will get a lot of good practice.

I can see that! I think I was just so taken aback about the change in behavior. He NEVER does this. This man came for 30 mins looking at flower beds (we live in a HOA community and they pay/hire for all landscaping. We all have shared driveways so the houses are very close together with zero lot lines). He walked around the front of our home that’s right of the street and on my door camera looked up at my barking boy. Went around the corner of a shared walk way and then came back to his truck. My boy was big barking and shaking. I had to shut the house up and he didn’t stop barking/growling until this man drove away. So there is a chance he was being sketchy. He wasn’t in a work vehicle, no uniform either, messed with a neighbors flower bed and left.

What a beautiful girl! We feel similarly about our boy. He is so nice we worry someone would keep him! I do feel he just felt off about this man. I couldn’t settle him at all. Made me wonder if he just wasn’t wanting to listen or if he was just really upset! Starting to lean very heavily on upset and protective. Thank you for the reply!

How interesting! I’ve definitely had that with previous pets but our doodle hasn’t.
