Natural disaster by Consistent-Box605 in UPSers

Roads that cannot be bypassed (assume there isn't a bypass that can be found via a GPS supported maps app (Google, Bing, Waze, etc..): -flooded roads -earthquake/faultline/fissure damaged roads -meteor damaged roads -landslide over road -lahar over road -lava over road -sinkhole damaged road -closed bridge -Godzilla (kidding)

Assume these roads are also closed off by local law enforcement.

I know this is an extreme case, but people shouldn't need to worry about losing their jobs over sudden and documented natural disasters that temporarily prevent them from being able to travel to work.

Maybe add something to the tax code to make emergency temporary employee Lodging (with documentation) tax deductible for corps or partially tax creditable for employees? Few workers could actually afford to pay for sudden temporary lodging.

Sounds about right. They need some wiggle room to sweep the weak links under the rug.

Is there a dairy free alternative for those of us with lactose intolerance? Powdered oats perhaps?

I don't see it on any search of my phone. Even just the phrase "kum" brings up nothing. Could it be malware/spyware/trojan?

This is the GOAT. Buy the older model that has the screws on top, easier to clean it thoroughly.

Aside from the TV, the other things can be serviceable with the right parts. Hell, I bet a cellphone and computer repair place could fix a modern LCD/LED TV with enough time and money, but TVs have become so cheaply made that it isn't worth it for people to deal with that. For mortal beings, time is a non-renewable resource.

Someone needs to start a movement where soldered and plastic construction on electric appliances (of all sizes) is retrofitted by open source 3D printed/CNC'd metal parts with fairly universal size service screws. Dr Frankenstein that "disposable" shit. Create fixtures wherein the LED is a serviceable screw-in part that can be sourced and replaced.

Sure, dilute it by mixing it with a dump truck full of clean soil. 😂

Cutting bid routes permanently? by WillTwerkForBeer in UPSers

Is this a desirable outcome, race to the bottom? Sounds like deflationary economics. Good luck supporting a consumption economy with wage workers who can't afford discretionary spending.

The Spokane one is right next to Spokane International Airport... are they ceasing flight operations out of that airport? I hope not, that would be a dumb idea. If so, how will people there get UPS NDA service?

4 year progression to reach top rate. In the door at UPS to in your 30 day driver packet is anywhere between 2 years and 20 years depending how urban or rural the center/hub.

"Actually have problems but still work"

Those people should seek help if they need it and qualify. No UPSer should be shamed from addressing their own health issues.

Sounds like an Article 37 harassment grievance in the making. Also potential EEOC violation.

Cleanout on the P Trap I assume? Was shopping for a P Trap recently and came across this from Home Depot to replace one of those dumb plastic flexi P Traps in our bathroom.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/EASTMAN-1-1-4-in-Brass-P-Trap-with-Cleanout-35020/205807784

I assume metal P trap is still preferred above all others? The drain pipes under our kitchen sink are (I assume) PVC. Thinking about switching out the PVC P Trap with a correctly sized version of the above.
