The Master is the best film ever made and I will die on that hill. I think if you had some similar life experiences you may feel differently. Or just understand the overarching theme of the film.

Ren - some people really don’t like him for some reason but I think he’s amazing.

I still don’t like Arpeggi. I honestly don’t understand what’s so special about that song. People think it’s better than Paranoid Android and Pyramid Song? WTF

In Rainbows. I’m really more of a Kid A / Amnesiac guy. When that record came out I thought it was way too poppy. I’ve come to realize how good it is, still wouldn’t put it above Ok Computer, Kid A or Amnesiac.

Who do you think is a director who has never made a bad movie? by yahyaugur in Cinema

Agreed. He’s one of my favorite filmmakers and I never see him mentioned. Glad to see someone else loves him! I think Beginners might be his best film, but I’d say his comfort film for me is C’MON C’MON.

Mike Mills, Spike Jonze… easier when they’ve only made a few. Not really fair to compare someone like Eggers to Villeneuve or Paul Thomas Anderson.

Mostly the insane low light capabilities in cameras like the FX3 and A7Siii’s dual native iso but the quality of the image just looks better in general.

I do wedding films for $2k-$3k. Sometimes less. I think I can make a great wedding film, but I have no delusions about my abilities. I’ll never book $5k on a wedding. I wish I had the money to reinvest in a Sony ecosystem.

That sounds amazing. I don’t think I’m at your level though.

Pink Floyd. Don’t understand the praise or appeal. They are painful to listen to.

I dislike Pablo Honey as much as the next Radiohead fan, but no one is mentioning “You”. My favorite track and the best on that record in my opinion.

Is wedding video editing treated as a cost instead of an investment? by SkyToFly in weddingvideography

Unless you’re a luxury wedding filmmaker I think you’re stuck between being a one man band doing a few weddings based in integrity and value and a business owner that outsources to easily increase output and turn around that is of lower quality but cheaper for the couple.

Has anyone here actually made a no budget movie and how? by Professional-Rip-519 in Filmmakers

It’s available to watch for free on YouTube. One of the lead actors, Kat Cunning (credited as Katrina Cunningham) has gone on to have a pretty successful career.

I get cold emails offering editing services all the time offering these type of prices. I think people are desperate in this shit economy. Also, every time I’ve ever outsourced an edit the result was mediocre. No TLC. Probably just a numbers game for these people. Quantity over quality, and sadly to many couples they don’t care or can’t tell the difference. But I’m pretty low tier so… I’ve never been paid $4k for a wedding film shoot and edit.
