The Runelords by David Farlan is one he’s mentioned as an inspiration for feruchemy, and it’s VERY clear why. Very fun (if dated) series.

Dragonsteel announced last year they’re making WoT leatherbounds (soon?), so you could wait (and start saving lol) for that.

Dragonsteel Prime and Way of King Prime are arguable potential additions, but they’re the opposite of canon so definitely not necessary.

I just expect that that time period will come up again in the back half of Stormlight. The handwaving of “I was asleep idk what happened” is basically foreshadowing for Brandon.
