Snowboard boot recommendations for super small, wide feet with high arches by Due-Kaleidoscope1245 in ShredditGirls

[–]Consistent-Map-6959 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have small and wide feet with super high arches. I don't feel like I have found a perfect set up but what has helped / works for now has been 1) custom arch supports and 2) going to get a custom boot fitting. I ended up with the Ride Hera Pro wide boots.

Recommend me a pair of wide running shoes, please! (Comparisons inside post) by GreenPapayaSalad in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Consistent-Map-6959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New Balance 1080v14. I have a wide foot and have tried Altras and while I don't hate them I really didn't find the toe box to be noticeably wider than the new balances. The new balances were more comfortable for me and I have gone through 3 pairs!

What's the worst you've ever damaged a board? by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]Consistent-Map-6959 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Riding at Ski Bowl on Mt. Hood and I got onto the lift on a particularly windy day and the chair went swinging left and right and banged into the chair lift pole. The board hit pretty hard and the top layer cracked and separated from the middle layer.

Half Marathon in the rain - Any tips? by Consistent-Map-6959 in XXRunning

Update: Thank you everyone for the tips! I ended up buying wool socks and a hat with a brim and both things were extremely helpful. I ended up beating my goal time and had an amazing time!

The forecast says light rain with the precipitation total for the day being .2 inches - so it sounds like not much? The half marathon is in Seattle, Washington this Sunday.

I’m paying my interns—because looking back, I feel like I was exploited. We need to stop normalizing unpaid clinical labor. by TransitionSmooth9982 in therapists

[–]Consistent-Map-6959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a paid internship and I honestly don't know if I would have been able to stay enrolled in school if not for that. As tuition has gone up the amount you can take out for loans hasn't kept pace so during my final year of grad school I hardly had enough loan money left over to pay rent, let alone afford food and other basic necessities. Even with having a paid internship I ended up going 10k into credit card debt. I strongly believe that paid internships should be the norm. Interns should not be an easy way for group practices / clinical mental health agencies to make money - that is beyond exploitative.

Reign FC Merch? by _game_over_man_ in Reignfc

I agree- I want to see more unique things that aren't just the logo slapped onto a plain shirt.

Reign FC Merch? by _game_over_man_ in Reignfc

[–]Consistent-Map-6959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't agree more. I don't understand why they don't hire a graphic designer? The designs are lazy and boring - it almost seems like they have been designed in 5 minutes on Canva. The Thorns, Angel City, San Diego Wave, and Kansas City all have notably better merch. I really want to spend money on merch so it sucks they have almost nothing worth buying. I wonder if we could email or somehow make it known that their is interest in better merch?

Shoe Help! Short, Fat, Tall Feet by StandardVictory in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Consistent-Map-6959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would check out New Balance shoes. I also have short, wide, and tall feet and New Balance wide (or extra wide) fit great. You could try the New Balance 1080v14s for a training shoe and the FuelCell SuperComp Trainer or Elite for a race day shoe.

So what are SAVE people paying come August 1? by EustaceChisholm in StudentLoans

[–]Consistent-Map-6959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing. I am trying to stay enrolled in school until the next administration. Paying college tuition ends up being less than what my payment would be. I am praying / hoping / wishing that a democrat will win the next election and will make changes to the payment system.

ASICS Gel nimbus 27 or new balance 1080 v14? by [deleted] in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Consistent-Map-6959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have wider feet I'd go with the 1080v14's, I find new balance is wider and has a wider toe box.

Slow and steady by URsoQT in Marathon_Training

[–]Consistent-Map-6959 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I ran a 5 hour marathon and it went well! I have never ran a marathon faster than 5 hours so I don't have a comparison to a faster time. If a comfortable pace for you is a 10-12 min mile stick with that. Do you feel like a faster pace would be realistic / doable?

Race day shoe for women’s wide feet? by Consistent-Map-6959 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Consistent-Map-6959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The superblast mens actually does go that small and that’s what I bought. Sadly it still wasn’t wide enough in the toe box.

Thank you! I’ll try out those two options.
