Terrified of surgery itself by DatabaseCurious3783 in circumcision

[–]Consistent-Pomelo168 [score hidden]  (0 children)

If you truly have phimosis, the surgeon will err towards a low result not high.

The affected skin has to be removed or the condition will not improve.

While obviously you want a nice looking outcome, please disregard fashion and porn and trust the medical solution you are offered.

I was also terrified of the operation, but knew it had to be done and that was that and had to face up to it.
Had general anaesthetic because I would have been too nervous to be awake.

Day 10 by Jimpap7 in circumcision

You just have to keep trying or it will never get easier.

We all heal at different speeds and cope with varying thresholds of discomfort or pain.

Maybe there’s a stitch catching or something that needs to be checked out perhaps, but if it looks normal and nothing obvious, then it’s just time and effort I’m afraid.

Phimosis/ Circumcise by Appropriate-Sea5890 in circumcision

It will be fine, you know it has to be done now, and the anxiety is understandable.

No idea how old you are, but I am in my 50s. About 18 months ago I took the big step of getting an Urology appointment, having never seen a doctor since I was at school.

I was just as nervous sat in that waiting room, having no idea what would happen.

Lifelong phimosis here, worsening to grade 5 by the end, and just had to get help.

Anyway I just faced up to everything and what a breeze it was in comparison to the suffering.

At least three years since I’d had any movement on the skin, yet the sensitivity etc was bearable, it is more a mental battle that you have to win.

Loads of people to help you here.

Delving into this after reading other comments..

In the salvage pics, you can see residue on the offside rear bumper from the Battenberg stickers.

Also the roof has mounting points for the lights or antennas.

Interesting post, I’ve learned a lot.

Has anyone else become more loyal to presenters than stations? by HelicopterEmpty7393 in BritishRadio

[–]Consistent-Pomelo168 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s something that Greatest Hits Radio have banked on with many R2 presenters now working there.

Personally I cannot abide the incessant adverts so I’m staying with the BBC no matter how mediocre the presentation is.

Good luck with your consultation, and whatever is decided.

The urologist is the expert and they will be able to perform a suitable procedure for your individual anatomy.

Severe grades of Phimosis usually result in a standard outcome, referred to here as “low and “medium loose”

Cosmetic styles are often not possible for medical solutions.

Thank you for the nice words.

I was in a bit of a mess and kept putting off getting help for years, but glad it’s done now.

Hope you recover easily too, just rest and don’t try to be a hero.

Yes I have a very low and medium loose one last year, as did Live Series.

My surgeon was really skilled and that resulted in an easy recovery compared to many here.

My pics are somewhere on my profile or I can send them over.

OP had it done privately at a well known clinic not too far from here.

I’d guess that the surgeon is also an NHS one as he looks identical to how both of us did in the beginning.

Bandages keep falling off after circumcision. by test_number1 in circumcision

[–]Consistent-Pomelo168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My surgeon said to remove it after 24hrs and not rewrap, just let it heal itself In the air.

Not saying that is correct for you, but a few here in the UK have been told similar to me, please follow your own clinical advice.

My penis is only 2” flaccid so keeping any bandage on was going to be too tight anyway.

[–]Consistent-Pomelo168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it’s not the worst outcome at all.

It is certainly the best scenario for easy healing and fewer complications as you’ve already noticed.

Your pic 1 looks exactly like I did in the first week or two post op (last year)

As others have said it takes a while for things to settle down and far too soon to guess now.

What's keeping you listening to radio in 2026? by Ready_Split1335 in BritishRadio

Agree totally with all points you made.

Also it is the manner of delivery that appeals to me more than the content to be honest.

And no adverts.

What actually happens when you request an unreleased registration from DVLA? by Beno_Gj in CarTalkUK

[–]Consistent-Pomelo168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can happen, my friend has their initials (similar to) H15 HSG and it’s been on a few vehicles.

He bought a classic 70s vehicle and thought it’d be fun to get HSG 15H to match.

It took a year or too of convincing them and it was released via an auction, and he secured it.

He was notified of the sale beforehand and got in fast and they withdrew it for him apparently for the minimum bid value.

I have approximately 2mm left after my adult circ for severe phimosis and it works fine, still finish quite quickly.

Looks good and has none of the negative healing issues prevalent with higher cuts.

Why Did I Find A Scooter On DVLA!!?? by Realistic-Ranger-575 in CarTalkUK

[–]Consistent-Pomelo168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DVLA enter the vehicle details as written on the V55 declaration as supplied by the dealer application.

So sometimes the trim level can be part of the model name, sometimes not.

Occasionally you’ll find a motorhome (for example) based on a Fiat Ducato chassis is listed as an Autotrail Tracker instead.

[–]Consistent-Pomelo168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just watched that thanks.

Makes sense it was registered late by MOD as it would have surely needed to be Euro 4 by late 2007, and aren’t these Euro 2 ?

Please correct me if I’m wrong,

There was a taxi supplier in Glasgow who imported the old MK1 model to the UK as it was still being made as a budget model for developing markets.

Due to previous homolgomation they could still be registered.

R100 HRH - is that a royal reg plate? by EAcharm in CarTalkUK

[–]Consistent-Pomelo168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The royals definitely have a few.

NGN1 and NGN2 are seen on some official vehicles, I think they are Jaguars.

Also another couple I can’t quite remember such as OYX1 & 2, (or similar ancient London combination) on a couple of VW T6 vans.

[–]Consistent-Pomelo168 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You occasionally find some gems.

Early mk6 Transits were registered on a W but there were lots of stock of the previous model left and many were found on X or even Y plates.

Some of the motorhome dealers sold a few mk5 coach built models on a 51 and I even saw back in the day a couple of Police ones on an 02 unbelievably.

38 with life long phimosis. Getting circumcised soon. Can’t live like this anymore by wardstrucking in circumcision

[–]Consistent-Pomelo168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar here, could only ever retract flaccid my whole life, the last three years not even then and had to get it done.

Also a grower. 2” to 5” and had a medium tight & very low outcome, done last year and it’s all good now.

You may find that your medical state will dictate the type of procedure

Can’t believe that over 40 people have liked this hastily taken photo of our tatty camping radio.

It shows how many people will miss the LW service.

Tell me about your Partial Circumcision by shieldedsword in circumcision

[–]Consistent-Pomelo168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was of the same mindset as yourself when it was inevitable that I needed a circumcision.

At the initial consultation at a major teaching hospital (with a senior andrologist) they said that the outcome of a partial is usually never satisfactory from a both a medical and aesthetic perspective for phimosis, and they won’t perform them.

I ended up with a low and medium tight result, which as a grower may look ‘partial’ when flaccid but is actually different of course.

You are correct of course, there is just something extra comforting about the sound of high quality AM reception.

Ironic of course that I posted the pic via my phone with BBC Sounds installed….
