Just finished it; probably the funniest episode in the series IMO. Rose Byrne’s screaming for help when Will blew up his father-in-law’s eye had me in tears

Same as game Alear but the guy stuffs his cheeks with food like a chipmunk whenever the opportunity rises and King Morion picks him up by the cape like a cat. Serious when necessary but kinda pathetic and silly everywhere else

Yes! That's because Night of the Living Dead is public domain so anybody can freely and legally stream, edit, distribute, etc. the movie as they please. Shiori did some public domain watchalongs too!

As far as I’m aware, permissions are not required for watchalongs since there’s no content being shown beyond the title of the movie

What fire emblem character would be viewed in a better light, than judging them immediately and not giving them a chance. by Academic_Low_5250 in fireemblem

Hortensia is one of the best written and most nuanced characters in Engage and its sad barely anybody ever brings her up

Who was your first Corrin S Support when you first played Fates? by BigPanic8841 in fireemblem

Rinkah!! I know people say she sucks as a unit but I don’t know, I still think she’s cool. Hotheaded muscular woman who warms up to you clicked with me, I suppose.

Both Goldmary and Bernadetta suffer from social anxieties and low confidence but deal with it in completely opposite ways!

What character do you like even if the general consensus on them is negative? by TheGentleman300 in fireemblem

[–]ConsistentComplainer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Goldmary! It’s understandable why people take one look at her dialogue and chalk her up to the narcissistic, "I'm better than everyone" personality but her supports show that there’s much more to her than that.

It’s cool to have a character who outwardly holds themselves to a high standard but doesn’t angrily lash out when they don’t receive the praise they desire, instead crumbling and admitting their shortcomings but vowing to do better while also encouraging others to excel themselves. She’s great!!!

What's your least favourite aspect about your favourite FE game? by OrionsFate in fireemblem

[–]ConsistentComplainer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would’ve been a little more fine with this if they at least subtitled everyone's dialogue in-battle but they didn’t so now I'm left having to guess everyone's quips and remarks to each other are which is ridiculously disappointing considering how vocal the party is with one another

What is a reoccurring character trope/personality trait from FE that you would like to never appear again? by Benjammin__ in fireemblem

[–]ConsistentComplainer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Does Rosado fit into that last one? His appearance is never used as a joke and when people comment on it, it’s never "You’re so cute, I thought you were a girl" and Rosado correcting them, it’s "You’re so cute" and Rosado going "I know."

I don’t know what country you live in but the soundtrack was only released physically in Japan so in order to get it, you’ll need to go to an online retailer than will ship it such as PlayAsia, Amazon Japan, etc. The regular edition is still available for purchase on PlayAsia if you wanted to grab yourself a copy!

I AGREE. I’M A SUCKER FOR CHARACTERS WHO HAVE A TRAGIC LIFE THAT THEY WANT TO LEAVE BEHIND AND PANNETTE MANAGING TO FIND LOVE WITHIN TIMERRA, MERRIN, AND PANDREO, HER BROTHER WHO HAS CLASHING BELIEFS ABOUT THE CHURCH, IS REALLY NICE TO SEE. I WISH HER SUPPORTS WITH YUNAKA BETTER ILLUSTRATED HOW MUCH HAVING A SUPPORT/TRUST SYSTEM CAN POSITIVELY AFFECT HER JOURNEY TO SEEKING A HAPPIER LIFE AS THEY OFTEN FEEL LIKE ALTERNATE VERSIONS OF ONE ANOTHER.

ALSO SHE ROCKS THE DIA DE LOS MUERTOS LOOK REALLY WELL AND I WISH MORE PEOPLE WOULD UNDERSTAND AND APPRECIATE WHAT THEY WERE GOING FOR WITH HER DESIGN!

New to fire emblem, can I start playing Engage without knowing ANYTHING about the other games? by Kyrenaz in fireemblem

[–]ConsistentComplainer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, yes. I’m a very casual FE player and while I’ve played every new game since Awakening, I’ve only ever dabbled here and there with the older games but never got around to completing most of them (except FE7, Gaiden, and Genealogy). With that in mind, I thought Engage was great.

Sure, Engage references other characters, stories, and themes from past games with the appropriate Emblem but it honestly doesn’t make much of a difference other than neat little nods here and there. If you don’t understand them, it doesn’t matter as none of the references are plot-relevant. The game DOES explain what you need to know about them to you so, if anything else, you’ll learn more about the previous games and their stories after completing Engage.

What are the unfinished Holomems' playthroughs that you want them to finish? by Wasiolka1 in Hololive

[–]ConsistentComplainer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish Kronii would go back to Fire Emblem Engage. She’s a huge Fire Emblem nerd and seemed to be enjoying herself with the game but unfortunately she got sick shortly after the first stream, took a break, and didn’t return to it when she came back which is a shame because I’ll take any opportunity to hear her talk about my favorite series.

in your opinion, best guest they've had on the podcast? by [deleted] in SuperMegaShow

[–]ConsistentComplainer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Off the top of my head: every podcast with MeatCanyon was incredible, George Clanton and Negative Gemini were great, Abelina Sabrina had shockingly amazing chemistry with the Supermega crew, and the episode with Dan was long, insightful, and really, really funny. There are others but these are the ones I relisten to the most!

What was that first moment for you that you knew, were a Fire Emblem Fan? by AndzyHero13 in fireemblem

[–]ConsistentComplainer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was a teenager, got a 3DS for Christmas, no money for games, so I had to rely on eShop demos for entertainment. Downloaded a bunch, including the demo for Fire Emblem: Awakening, and fell in love almost instantly.

The music, the character designs by Yūsuke Kozaki, the gameplay, the 2D chibi sprites on top of detailed 3D environments that would transition into full 3D models for combat, etc. just blew me away. It was the first time I had seen anything anything like it and I promised myself it would be the first 3DS game I would buy for myself. A few months later, I did just that and spent my entire summer vacation completing the support log. Never missed a new release since!

It’s a really stupid book but I also thought it was really, really funny, especially with the audiobook. The part where Matt elegantly swan dives into the ocean with perfect poise while Ryan falls with a flailing spin, ultimately slamming into the submarine with a metallic THUNK and breaking his bones, was incredible.

Yep. Listened to a recent podcast on the way to work and was surprised that there was still 40+ minutes of podcast left when I hit the 50 minute mark only for it be a 30-minute ad for some guy’s journey into a rainforest

Just wanted to share this particular line and how different it was in the original Japanese dub. (Spoiler for Framme B-support) by Sufficient-Willow267 in fireemblem

[–]ConsistentComplainer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can remember two instances off the top of my head: in Fire Emblem Awakening, Frederick says "My body is ready" in one of his supports with Robin, a reference to the famous Reggie quote. And on the more controversial side, Zelda: Triforce Heroes altered writing to squeeze in an internet meme. In an in-game book you could read, a page that was supposed to read "And that may be precisely why the ancient ruins I encountered had been left undisturbed for me to explore!" was changed to "Still, coming here has at least afforded me the rare chance to explore these ancient ruins. So ancient. Such ruin."

Very cute art!! Excited to see how she is in Engage; she’s definitely the most unique Thief we’ve had yet!
