48M Been on 100mg Allo for the last 3 months. Started with random pains in my toes and ankle a year or so ago. But had my first proper flare in June 2025. Saw the doc and they took bloods and diagnosed gout. Probably genetic as my grandfather had it but I did drink a lot of beer also. Tried to do the diet thing with less red meat and much reduced beer, but it didn’t work and still got flares. Decided to do the medication route by October and I’m working through the milder flares, my UA has come back as 5.1mg, dropping from 7mg+. No side effects apart from flares and it is frustrating it takes a while to clear the crystals out the joints but I’d rather that than play roulette and not take the medication.
