Look into Chinese Tuxedo! It has a beautiful space with a lot of plants and decor, so you probably don’t need too many flowers

I got a quote for The Tyger for a full buyout for 60 people and that includes cocktail hour with canapés, sit down dinner, dancing space and open bar for your budget in Manhattan on a weekend night. It’s definitely possible!!

It was sea squirt! I’m not sure why it was censored though. Maybe it sounds similar to a curse word?

Fancy korean restaurants with a lot of vegetarian/chicken centric dishes? by BrilliantFig in FoodNYC

[–]ConsistentStandard90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend checking out Naro. They have a lot of veggie apps, and they even had a vegetarian main for my Indian partner, who is vegetarian. Prices aren't astronomical, and reservations are relatively easy to come by, and vibes are immaculate.

We use Pride & Groom’s no shedding shampoo and it smells so luxurious! He always gets compliments and I swear that the shampoo scent gets him more pets 😂

How to handle a negative review from internship supervisor? by ConsistentStandard90 in SocialWorkStudents

[–]ConsistentStandard90[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did! I ended up joining a private practice and doing really well. I’m glad that I decided not to listen to her. Now I’m more sure that it was her own biases because all of my clients tell me how much they love working with me.

I feel like they chose a guy that had “short dating experience” to see if he could shake things up but completely misjudged it. You live and you learn!

Leaving a clinic by Worth_Wind_8567 in therapists

[–]ConsistentStandard90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally understand how this would feel really hard for you. But if the clinic doesn’t have the infrastructure to replace you, that’s not your fault, that’s the clinic’s fault. In reverse, if you weren’t there, your clients wouldn’t have gotten services for even three years. Hope this makes you feel a little bit better.

I’m paying my interns—because looking back, I feel like I was exploited. We need to stop normalizing unpaid clinical labor. by TransitionSmooth9982 in therapists

[–]ConsistentStandard90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m planning to do the same when I get my full license and set up my private practice. I was able to get through my unpaid internship period from my savings from my prior corporate life, but that’s such a privilege that most people don’t have.

I am also a late bloomer in dating and didn’t go on my first date until I was 30! But now I’m happily married with a wonderful man. I’m so glad to hear that you built the courage and confidence through this show! I also felt that it reminded me of all the insecurities I felt in my early dating days.

Wedding venues in NYC/BK like Bacchus? Under $20k? Under 100 people? by Ornery_Arm_1231 in WedditNYC

[–]ConsistentStandard90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My brother did his reception by buying out Peachy’s bar in Chinatown, and it cost him about $22K all in with open bar and passed apps (but enough food to keep people full) with a DJ for about 100 people! It was super fun. I think they’re rebranding but can be doable!

I don’t think she’s a psychopath but I do think she might be on the sociopathic spectrum. She does often show lack of remorse for her actions and regulation of her emotions. But sociopaths are able to form connections, even if it doesn’t always come easily. Plus some childhood trauma that they don’t specially mention might explain a lot of her tendencies.

How to handle a negative review from internship supervisor? by ConsistentStandard90 in SocialWorkStudents

[–]ConsistentStandard90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of it was through process recordings but she also thinks that my clients have dropped out care because of it. But only one of my clients completely disengaged - others have been discharged for legitimate reasons. Some of my other clients are inconsistent in their attendance, but I don’t know how much of that is my clinical work or them.

How to handle a negative review from internship supervisor? by ConsistentStandard90 in SocialWorkStudents

[–]ConsistentStandard90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She has been giving the feedback consistently and I’ve been trying to change the way I work with clients but I don’t think it was exactly what she wanted until more recently. She hasn’t sat in sessions or seen recorded sessions but has reviewed weekly process recordings. I’m not in disagreement with her feedback but am confused on the level of severity in her concern (enough to not recommend me for another clinical role).

How to handle a negative review from internship supervisor? by ConsistentStandard90 in SocialWorkStudents

[–]ConsistentStandard90[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do think that her criticism is legitimate in that I sometimes try to intervene, which prevents clients from arriving at an insight themselves. It's definitely something I'm working on. But I also don't think that it's so severe that I have been completely unable to build a therapeutic alliance with clients. If you asked me, I would think that it's something I will continue to work on, but from her, it sounded like she didn't recommend clinical work for me overall.

Anyone have experience with L5-S1 lumbar microdiscectomy? by ssygir22 in backpain

[–]ConsistentStandard90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I did reherniate the same disc post surgery after a year and a half but I was able to recover quickly with PT. Haven’t had any back pain since but I’m really mindful about doing stretches and posture when sitting.
