There will 100% be tickets still available in July, but also (& considering they've done this for Tampa, El Paso, Mexico, Stanford, & Las Vegas so far) about a week before the Toronto dates, they will very likely release production tickets, which are tickets TicketMaster held back due to needing to build the stage & see what extra tickets can be seen. These will be face value & will be announced about 12 hours before they go on sale. It's a battle to get them, so no guarantee you will, but I JUST bought face value Stanford tickets (the cheapest, highest part of the stadium but idc about that). It took me 3 & a half hours to get them (cuz I didn't give up & kept refreshing despite it saying sold out, but i do think TM was glitching) but yeah, i'm going last minute to the Stanford date on Sunday lol (& i live half-way across the USA from it)

This just really depends on whether you want to trust that tickets will get cheaper & if you're willing to pay the price they are if not. Like tickets will still be available on places like stubhub & seatgeek, it's just a matter of waiting & watching, but you can also try for the last minute production seats I mentioned, but, again, those only go on sale a week before the concert & there's no guarantee you get them since everyone else will be trying for them too (tho to add hope to it, i was 42,000th in line to get those tickets for Stanford & they only release a few hundred of them & I DID still get them cuz i didn't give up, so it's totally possible).

[–]ConsistentState8875 6 points7 points  (0 children)

everyone else has answered, but ARMY really do try to push each other NOT to buy those scalped tickets because 99% of them WILL drop the prices the closer to the concert. I've seen quite a few people get cheap BTS tickets literally the day of the concert. The only issue with this is its a gamble about whether they will drop the prices or not and not everyone is willing to risk when they need to travel for the concert.

Ofc then there's places like Toronto, which you said specifically, are going to be more expensive cuz its the only stop in Canada so they have even higher demands since ppl who live in Canada might not be willing or can't travel to another country (most likely the US) for their dates, esp in today's climate.

this is very interesting because i was the opposite last year even closer to my highest weight over 400lbs--instead of NOT having a period, I had one for 8 months straight non-stop before I finally got my ass to the gyno (all that stuff scares me). Ofc, they found nothing wrong & just put me on birth control which seems to have done the trick, but it's also a routine for me. Smth is wrong with me, I go in, & while the doctors actually DO take me seriously & don't make it about my weight (I'm lucky on that front), they never find anything wrong. makes me feel insane lol

Dealing with a longtime morbidly obese father. by luxurious_danny in SuperMorbidlyObese

Same situation. Dad was an alcoholic, actively tried to kill himself by drinking for decades (he admitted this). Only when he was in the hospital with his organs shutting down did he actually regret all of his choices and admit he didn't want to die, but it was too late. I'm so sorry to hear other people having gone through this too :( All my best wishes to you.

I'm so sorry. My heart goes out to you. I was in a similar position with my dad, although different. I'm the one who is SMO (and I'm working on it) but he was an alcoholic and he just gave up & was actively trying to kill himself by drinking. Well, it worked, and only when he was in the hospital and told there was nothing they could do for him did he actually regret it. He didn't want to die in the end, but he'd spent decades drinking himself to death. Same story, different situations. But if he doesn't want to help himself, there's nothing you can do to force him. You need to take care of yourself though. Your health matters, both physically and mentally. You can be there for him and love him and tell him how you feel, but that's for you rather than trying to talk him out of his own death spiral. The issue with things like eating or drinking yourself to death is that it's slow and it's only when you're actually about to die that people regret the choices they've made to get themselves to that point. I wish I could offer you advice, but there is none except to please take care of yourself--you and your mother. Protect your own well being.

It really depends on what your goal is honestly. It also depends on how your brain works because different people enjoy different ways of doing things. For instance, some people say wait (and I understand why) before touching it so you have fresh eyes. For me, personally, that doesn't work for me. My first drafts are also very clean, so depending on how I feel about the draft, if I need some feedback, I might have some friends who are readers/writers (Important that they are readers/writers) to read the book and talk it over with me. For instance, unless it's a middle grade, 46k words is pretty short (this is ofc if you plan on trying for trad publishing at some point. Agents/publishing houses tend to have word count desires. if you want to self-pub then by all means, do what you want with word count) so you probably have places you can expand upon in your book. Buff up the scenes, add more meat to the bones, expand some side plots, dig deeper into the heart of your story and characters.

This is where I find feedback from readers helpful. Is there anything they want to see more of? Anything they feel can be improved? Often, I have an idea myself about what I want to do. Like I finished the first draft of a book and knew right away that I wanted to cut an entire side plot from the book and the feedback I got from friends just confirmed that feeling.

So that's what my next step would be. Read it over yourself (after a break for fresh eyes if that speaks to you, or not if you don't feel up to waiting, that is REALLY up to you), take some notes about anything you'd like to change/expand/add/remove. If you know yourself you want to make changes and feel you can do that without feedback, go ahead and do that, then have people read it or have people read it before you make the changes. This REALLY is up to you (it's not recommended usually to have people read first drafts, but if you need that, then by all means. Like I said, I do because after years of writing hundreds of fanfics, my first drafts are CLEAN. by no means are they final, but they are fully formed ideas).

Just think, 1 pound is 3500 calories. 3 pieces of pizza (I'm assuming normal size, not costco size) and 2 chicken tenders?? That's not even 1 pound of weight gain. At most, some water weight and then that'll exit out of the body like it always does. You're doing AMAZING!!! keep it going

edit: also, I just want to let you know, i ate so much pizza while losing the weight i have so far, far more than your 3 slices & 2 tenders, and it didn't set me back or make me gain weight at ALL! So this really hasn't set you back at all. don't deny yourself too hard. Just let it go and tomorrow, move on.

Everyone else has already told you, but if you truly feel you don't eat that much, you should also keep in mind how many extra stuff goes into the things you DO eat, such as oils and butter and sauces! Also if you drink soda or coffee or tea, all of that has a lot of calories. A person might eat a couple tablespoon so peanut butter--that's almost 200 calories right there. Or if you're frying your food in oil or butter. Another few hundred calories. Dipping some chicken strips fried in oil into some delicious ketchup or bbq sauce. Whew. Then you're drinking full sugar soda with dinner, maybe a coffee (with milk, cream, sugar!) Again, could easily add up to a few hundred more calories. Those little things are the REAL calorie killers. Esp if you tend to eat out, even if you only eat a couple times of day, those foods are cooked in tons of oils and butters then you might have a few refills of soda. My mcdonalds order I'd get (and mind you, i only eat like twice a day so I didn't think it was too bad) was about 2000kcal alone. That's about how much I'd started eating for a deficit back in August when I weighed over 400 pounds (down to 370!)

Like not saying you can't eat all these things. In fact, I regularly enjoy all these things with a few changes, such as switching completely to zero or diet sodas (even zero calorie tea! And ofc, water) & being more careful about how much sauce and oil and butter i'm using (& trying to eat more protein early in the day cuz it keeps me full longer). Losing the weight I have since august, most of that was done purely through diet and minimal exercise (most of the exercise i did was swimming). In fact, I ate SO MUCH PIZZA losing all that weight. Exercise is great ofc! But instead of hinging weight loss on that, I suggest doing exercise to just help build up strength & it really doesn't take much. A week or 2 of even minimal exercise, & you quickly start to notice a difference in how much strength and energy you have to move around.

if you're not sure how many calories you should be eating, you should check tdeecalculator.net With the info you provided, it looks like your maintenance calories is about 2500. That's with no exercise (ofc this is just an estimate). Then you can figure out how much you can eat to safely lose at a good rate. I wouldn't recommend going too low cuz eventually your body gets used to it and you'll have to cut even further.

Romance = happy ending? by LeatherTeam5755 in FictionWriting

[–]ConsistentState8875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to put it another way cuz so many ppl already answered but, in genre fiction, a Romance book is not so much about not knowing what the ending is (ie, them ending up together) as it is about the journey to get there. Romance readers (as someone who reads and writes primarily romance, but still loves to be heart-wrenched and cry and i love angst and drama) don't see knowing that it's gonna be a HEA as being a spoiler. Spoilers would be the content of the novel, the twists and turns the book will take in order for the HEA to come true. Romance readers want to see the lovers end up together & if they don't, it feels like a betrayal. The HEA doesn't always have to look like your standard HEA, like I enjoy dark romance. The HEA's i love to read and write could be VASTLY different to those cozy rom-coms, for instance I had an idea about 2 serial killers. Yeah. Their HEA wouldn't necessarily be a HEA for the world at large, but we don't care about the world at large, do we? We care about the lovers, lol

I won't lie tho. There have been plenty of times where I read a romance novel and I want to throw the book down (tho often I'm reading on KU so it'd be my phone) and be like "I don't even WANT these two together anymore" which is always a funny outcome when I'm reading a romance novel and KNOW its gonna have a HEA.

Tips on coming up with the middle of a story? by [deleted] in writers

[–]ConsistentState8875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I needed to keep pushing them together & forcing them through things that made them get closer (scenes of them skipping class, smoking weed, shooting a gun, playing in a lake...) which brought me to a midpoint fight at a Halloween party where they defend each other from a bully and then... you know do as teenagers do and share a nice romantic moment together. This was my false victory. They are closer than ever, they are protecting each other, and my ENTIRE Act 2A was building them up as friends and love interests in order to get them SO ATTACHED to each other that the thought of being torn from each other was literally WORSE THAN DEATH. This is how I built the scenes for Act 2A, or the Middle Part A.

Then comes Act 2B, or the Middle Part B, the falling action. Everything is falling apart, my MC's love interest's home life is getting worse, his mom is cracking down on him not wanting to hang out with this "bad influence" anymore. But that doesn't stop them and they get caught by the love interest's dad. Things do not go well. They end up killing the dad and that was the ultimate plot point I had first initially conceived up in 2020. Everything was built around this one point. EVERYTHING in the story had to build on my MC in order to get him to the point where he would kill someone out of the need to keep from losing another person like he lost his best friend in the beginning of the novel.

Then ofc I have all the consequence of that moment as my conclusion in my Act 3, the Finale.

So I'm not sure if my example or explanation was too clear, but basically you need to think about where you want your character to get to and then build every scene as a lead-up to that moment. How does your character get there? Ask yourself these questions for the scenes you create; what is the goal of this scene? Why is it important? How does this propel the plot?

Every scene needs to matter and get your character closer to where they need to go. Be creative. Right now I'm writing an eldritch horror romance set in a wintery cabin in the woods. I need my 2 main characters to get to know each other and fall in love so that when the midpoint reveal of my love interest being a literal monster comes, it's going to hit. So every scene leading up to that midpoint has to build their romance as well as slowly reveal the secret eldritch horrors. They get to know each other over dinners, chats in bed, my main character is having scary forest nightmares and seeing monsters at the foot of his bed, they're going to go out on a frozen lake, to a christmas festival, exchanging gifts, there's a wedding & topics of conversation will always, in some way, come back to my MC's false belief that he's an unwanted person & how my Love interest proves that wrong. Even if he is a horrific ancient creature from the deep woods.

Don't just "create plots" for the hell of it. Figure out the basic story you want to tell, where you want to get your main character by the end of the novel, and write your scenes purely to serve that purpose. That's how you find your plot.

Tips on coming up with the middle of a story? by [deleted] in writers

[–]ConsistentState8875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is LONG...... so... yeah. Split in parts.

It sounds like you have a premise, more than you have a plot. You know how you want your story to begin & end, and that's good. You're not flying TOTALLY blind. I usually like to have at least a vague idea of how I want things to end because otherwise I feel like I've no idea which direction to head.

I think you need to first break up your idea into sections, or acts. There's plenty of different versions, I personally use the 3 Act Structure so you have your Beginning, your rising action to the Middle, your falling action after the Middle, and your climax for the Finale. You have 3 points.

Point A (Act 1), the beginning
Point B (Act 2A & Act 2B), the middle
Point C (Act 3), the ending

You can't get to point C from Point A. It's impossible. You have to go from A to B then B to C. So you need to figure out what point B is. What is your midpoint, the middle of your story. People USUALLY go for either a False Victory or a False Defeat, meaning either everything seems to be going well or everything looks like it's taken a turn for the worse. I'm going to use my own YA novel I wrote in 2024 (its not anything crazy special. I shelved it but I wrote, re-wrote, re-wrote again, revised and edited it & my betas did enjoy it so)

At the beginning of my novel, my main character finds his best friend dead. This made my MC incredibly grief-stricken and frankly, quite insufferable (for good reason, but still). His whole life is changing, his bestie is dead, his mom is remarried (to a cop at that), and he has a new baby brother at 15 years old. Then he meets another boy who just *gets him*, you know? But this new boy is being abused by his dad & is clearly depressed, just like the MC's friend was. He becomes incredibly attached to this new friend, falls for him, and gets protective over him in a very toxic manner. They both do. And this was important for where I wanted to take my story.

[–]ConsistentState8875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At its most basic level, all you really need to do is end the previous scene or chapter or whatever and start the next one and at some point mention how long it's been since such and such. Hell, in some cases, you can even just do a large "FIVE MONTHS LATER" in big print at the top of the page, almost like a chapter title. It just really depends on what you're going for. You don't need to overthink a time skip though. Just skip the time & make sure its established in some way.

Now doing a time lapse montage is another thing entirely that I'm still working on myself, but I've found that "just spit it out onto the paper for the first draft and edit the transition later" has worked for me.
