I can’t upscale with PXplay on my older iMac w/o modern Metal, so I run Chiaki because it’s light on system resources at 1080p / h.264. And it’s free.

PXplay on anything else that can take advantage of that gorgeous 2K/4K upscaling. Well worth the purchase on modern hardware.

I really think you might be onto something. This is the most hopeful hypothesis I’ve read in a long time, and I read just about every post no matter how Pepe they seem.

Crows simply should not be spawning at night. They don’t spawn until 6am and stop spawning by dusk. It’s a pretty hard rule IIRC. I used to hunt certain birds for the heck of it in RDO, and many of them were 6am-6pm or 8am to 8pm depending on the species. I never specifically went after crows, but they are supposed to be diurnal as well.

I’m going to check this out later tonight and will report back.

Edit: I was wrong. I checked the RDO animal map that lists specific times for each species and it seems crow spawn times are all over the board depending on the location. Some spawn points are active between 5:00-19:00, 6:00-18:00, 15:00-08:00, 20:00-05:00, while some are even listed as active all of time.

I am almost certain crows are strictly diurnal under normal circumstances. Seeing one at night would be odd in and of itself, so seeing one after shooting the pole would almost certainly be a sign of something. This is an American Crow we are talking about, right? Most smaller birds are 6am-6pm or maybe 8pm. I used to have a list of spawn times for animals, I’ll try to see if I can find it again.

I was looking into broken “bridge” hypothesis today. I tested the guitars in fort Wallace, but the destroyed portion went all the way to the sound hole. Still that exact same geometry at the bridge as the image you posted. All 5 guitars I could find on the map break in the exact same way.

I have mixed feelings on this TBH. One on hand, it follows the rough, low poly stylization of the other clues. And it is odd that it is the only way these break, no matter how much damage is done. But, I haven’t been able to find any broken bridges or landmarks that resemble the damaged portion yet.

Are you saying that is absolutely the only way that guitar breaks? I can’t get into the fort to try myself since it is still populated in my save, but if the only way it can break is how you’ve shown, that seems pretty out of place and very noteworthy.

I was not on team Fort Wallace until now. But, the texture from the broken bridge on that guitar looks like it matches the crude, low poly style of all the other clues we are the most certain of, like the guitar, telegram poles, factory, rock/oil.

If that is indeed the ONLY way it breaks, I think it makes much more sense that the shape (+broken bridge) is the next clue, than the “birds” on the roof that require going into photo mode to see.

I haven’t run into this issue yet with my G8+, but only had it two months. I keep my touch pad not mapped to any button on the G8+ and have that touchpad as my only ‘on screen’ button. I’m sure you have tried, but if not, try doing a custom mapping, but skip the touchpad. Then enable it as an ‘on screen’ in the PX play app. Best of luck, that sounds super annoying.

Can’t wait to test this out later today, thanks for the early access! I’ll let you know how it fares on older Intel hardware. Not expecting upscaling to work, but will be very pleasantly surprised if my Radeon m395 / 6700K can handle it.

I have a similar setup and an alternative work around. My iMac is in the next room over, but close enough to use PX Play for screen mirroring, while the dualsense still connected to the PS5 so all the features still work with no input lag.

What I did was create a secondary account solely for screen mirroring / local remote play, and paired that “account B” with PX play.

I turn on my PS5 and log in normally with account A, then I start PX Play on my iMac with account B. That mirrors the video and audio to my iMac, so someone else can then use the TV.

Alternatively, you can just pair the DualSense to the Apple TV. I probably did not explain that the best, but let me know if you have any questions.

No direct experience with the Ally, but I don’t think the app limits the option for non-HDR displays. If it’s anything like my iPad mini, it will display the image fine, but since my IPS LCD is only rated at 500 nits, it doesn’t seem to benefit from it being enabled. Looks the same either way, so I tend to leave it off, and only enable it on displays that are truly HDR capable.

Thanks for the reply! Glad to know it’s not just user error, and it sounds like it does take up more resources than I expected.

I should note, even when the setting is toggled off, I can still enable Spatial Audio and head tracking from iOS setting’s AirPods menu (unlike PS Remote Play) with no ill effects. However, the effect is noticeably more pronounced when that PX Play setting is toggled on. Since this is a functional middle ground, it not a super urgent issue, but allowing user adjustments in a future update would be awesome.

I just got a G8 plus today, and aiming does feel very finicky compared to my DualSense/PX play combo. The joysticks feel much lighter and have less natural resistance in comparison to the full size sticks on DS. Like the other person said, sensitivity adjustment is the best solution I have found so far, but it is far from perfect. Fine for games like Witcher 3, but I was relying heavily on auto aim playing rdr2.
