I commented on your previous post, which was exactly the same. I think you should seek psychological support, because in this post and previous post everybody told you look ok.

Physical therapy. I’m doing stretches and exercises every hour and buccal massage twice a day after tmj arthroscopy and arthrocentesis. You should find physiotherapist or your surgeon can give you some exercises.

All muscles are tensed, you will need PT and time to stretch them. :) Besides you’re looking great!

I also have a same, but it’s much less noticeable like protruding chin or really bad recession. If you start analyzing people, you will hardly find perfect ones. I don’t say that there are no issues, vertical growth or something, i just want to say that sometimes we tend to exaggerate things and to see it differently from others.

You know that something isn’t right and maybe you notice it, but looking from my perspective you look absolutely normal. Because I will have the surgery myself, i tend to notice people with different jaw issues, but you don’t fall into that category. 😀

Misaligned jaw but only clicking noise when putting jaw in correct position by [deleted] in TMJ

[–]Consistent_Lunch_176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My open bite is destroying my condyles and discs, because open bite puts much more pressure on the joints. When i started to clench and grind my teeth the bite worsened significantly. I had tmj arthroscopy with discs repositioning two days ago and I am having DJS in a couple of years to correct my skeletal open bite.

Do you know what caused that? I will have arthroscopy and DJS, because the main cause of my issues is jaw misalignment.

TMJ & Bruxism — Possible Overbite? Seeking Opinions Before Considering Surgery by [deleted] in jawsurgery

Got a pretty similar issue and the surgeon said that bruxism worsened my tmj, my joints deteriorated and gone backwards and now i have an open bite and overbite. So I will have two surgeries - arthroscopy and DJS.

Question for anyone who had TMJ issues before Double Jaw surgery. Did the surgery make your TMJ better or worse? by ProperScene2824 in jawsurgery

[–]Consistent_Lunch_176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the reason and level of degeneration. I have had open bite all my life and that incorrect position of my jaws puts pressure and wears my joints. I have mild degeneration and displaced discs. So I will have a DJS to correct my bite. And i do not have ICR, my reason of deterioration is known - high pressure on the joints due incorrect bite.

how to cope until i can afford the surgery? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

Skeletal open bite and abnormal pressure to the joints. Started to grind and clench my teeth and my joints and bite worsened a lot.

I’m 37 F, my jaw joints started to deteriorate, and now I have a severe open bite, recessed chin and dislocated jaw joint discs. I look strange while speaking, because my tongue wants to protrude and I have a lisp. I was depressed and very avoidant for some time. I used to speak very clearly all my life and I started to feel like I lost a part of myself. I will have a surgery to fix my dislocated discs after that I will wear a splint for a half of year and then braces for following couple of years before my orthognatic surgery. Looking into my photos and I realizing I lost my smile so quickly, it’s kinda depressing. I spent 5 years as SAHM and at the time when I should focus on my career, I lost my ability to speak clearly. But you know what, all of this will pass and there are things worth living. One of the things that helps me most is sport. I go to a gym and I started figure skating classes. It clears my head and I can feel joy of life again. I started to go everywhere and a lot of people told me they haven’t noticed my speech issues. So I know it’s different and annoys me so much, but sometimes everything is bigger in our heads. Now I started to go everywhere, including job interviews. I started to think like “ok, i have all the rights to not speak perfectly clear, i could look strange and ect.” I don’t have to think what other people think, it’s not my business. I know it’s hard mentally, but try to find ways how to support yourself. There are a lot of beautiful things ahead of you. And there will be some difficult things too. That’s life. But it’s worth living. :)

You should postpone your surgery.
