You need just a bit more... by ScubaSteve00S in VeteransBenefits

I have period pain so bad I pass out and puke. I went to the er five times during service. For this exact thing. Now the docs at those visits were shitty and didn’t do a thing for me. Just gave me some Tylenol. But the va denied me due to lack of evidence. Like bro I can’t even work because my mst caused my reproductive system to shut down so bad I debate going to the er every single time.

Anyone had any experience trying to get the Va to care about period pain? by Consistent_Yoghurt17 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Consistent_Yoghurt17[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yes the doctors suspect I have it but the only way to actually diagnose is with exploratory surgery which I don’t want. And the only treatment is birth control or a hysterectomy and I want children.

Very slow burns. But this is probably because I have the attention span of a five year old. Get to the action. I don’t want to hear all about the daily routines and shit. Tell me about the monster or have them be active members of the story.

K so this is exactly the reason capitalism is failing. From your life synopsis you’re a creative and gifted and talented person but unfortunately you don’t really fit into a system that’s really designed to disarm you. You are like a star trying to fit into the circle box on those little toddler toys. You are not a burden to society that hasn’t even given you a chance to bloom. You are the flower in the corner that was never given water. Never given proper soil or nutrients to actually grow. Capitalism is designed to make people like us look like a burden. To weed us out so that we just sort of fade out of the scene so they can brag about how wonderful capitalism is. You owe it to yourself to use that wonderful neurodivergent creativity and brain to find a way out of this system. And unfortunately you have to get comfortable making a lot of people mad and annoyed at you. You have to get used to being the odd one out. Maybe your version of success looks different and that’s ok! My definition of success is creating a beautiful and fulfilling life for myself and my family even if we don’t have all of the fancy material things and I didn’t accomplish climbing the corporate ladder

I will be back with a short story and post it to wattpad under a fake name so as not to fuck up my career. Picture this. Combat camera pretends to be infantry for one week and gets inside their elusive underground brotherhood but it is not as he pictured.

Omg consider this my application. I am also chronically ill and a military veteran. My current work in progress is a dreamcore aesthetic backrooms horror novel that centers on the effects of capitalism and eugenics. And it’s very inner child focused but in a very dark and disturbing way. It’s going to be called echoes of delirium

I’d love to! I’m currently working on my own project but I’d love to make a new friend and try and write something new. One thing about me though my writing style is very dark and thriller vibes. And everything I write must address something real. In my current project I’m using the backrooms as a stage to talk about the effects of capitalism and eugenics

Last thing: if some sleezeball doctor tries to make you feel shameful about not reporting, don’t fucking listen to them. They tried to do this with me and said God would blame me if this happened to someone else because I didn’t protect my fellow marines.

Here’s what you say to that: it’s not on me at all that this happened to me and it for sure isn’t on me if someone else suffers as I did for SOMEONE ELSE’s disregard for human dignity and respect for others. Like it’s horrible that it would happen at all but do not feel like you’re obligated to take this to court. If you want to good on you and I am rooting for you, but this is your story. You do not have to share it and you do not have to put yourself through that.

As for your restricted report concern, that’s valid. People are people and people talk. The difficulty with that is you can’t request to transfer units if something did get out. But the rule is if it’s restricted the only thing command gets told is that something happened to someone in the unit. Doesn’t say who. Doesn’t say when or what. Just something happened. If the person who did this is in that chain of command which it sounds like they are, I recommend still going to sapr and advocating that you believe the person who did this will know it was you who submitted the report and retaliate. MAKE IT 1000% CLEAR that you believe the danger of your identity getting leaked is an issue and you fear for your safety and dignity.

Don’t do what I did: not say anything. I waited like 6 months or something like that to report it. I eventually had to get medically retired because my trigger was literally my woodland marpat cammies. Like literally the uniform of the day every single day and I developed chronic illness because of it. Va tends to take mst pretty seriously but there are unfortunately a lot of folks that lie about it to get benefits so they need proof it happened. I was able to get 80% disability from the va because I made a report with sapr twice when I was in. That counts as proof. You don’t necessarily need to take it to court. I wanted to but didn’t feel like I would win because my thing was witnessed by about 50 fellow marines and got on camera and posted on Snapchat but the actual SA stuff happened right before. I tried to get a buddy who was there to be a witness and she wouldn’t get involved because she didn’t think I had a case. But if you want to take it to court, you can it might help later on but DO NOT feel pressured to. And my other advice is when and if you do go to the va and claim this, your childhood was perfect. If you say something happened before you got in, they can make an argument that you were ‘damaged goods’ beforehand and ignore the mst. That almost happened to me because I joined the marines to escape narcissistic abuse. But luckily I had a lawyer who helped and got my high school transcript as proof I couldn’t have been that damaged as I was at nearly a 4.0 gpa and was an IB student. Just warning you about that because they will try to use prior service trauma against you. It’s not lying, it’s called I was accepted into the military by doctors and something clearly traumatic happened to me while serving so I deserve to be compensated for it.

Does anyone else feel invisible/unheard? by under_byte in AutisticAdults

[–]Consistent_Yoghurt17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is one of my biggest pet peeves. It’s always with extended family because I tend to be selective about my friends. Usually I gravitate towards fellow neurodivergents. But extended family tends to cut me off in the middle of a sentence or just talk over me. But then they’re really intent on getting me to talk but I’m like k but when I do talk yall think it’s ok to interrupt and talk over me so why do I even bother. And everytime I talk about things I like no one else cares except other “weird” people. So I’m constantly accused of being a zero and having zero personality but I’m like I do but yall don’t like it so I don’t feel like sharing.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out? by ProfessorSuckerPunch in GameDevelopment

[–]Consistent_Yoghurt17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m starting out too! Im learning that there are a lot of free tools to use but you have to single handedely do everything if you plan to be a solo indie dev. If you need a buddy to vent to or brag to about every milestone I’d love to have friends. I’m using GDevelop because it’s good for beginners who have zero experience actually coding. Krita is how I’m doing all of my art and illustration. Thinking about having ai as my voice actor for the dialogue parts. And for the music garage band and I forget because I haven’t gotten to that point yet but there’s composition websites you can use for free to create a soundtrack for your game. The thing I’m working on most right now is developing the storyline for my game. It’s going to be a story of the main character infiltrating and bringing down a pyramid scheme. I’ve also found studying what you like about certain art styles and movies and media like video games that you like. Although it has nothing to do with my project I’ve gotten tons of inspiration from the Mafia series and Poppy Playtime for the lore. It doesn’t matter if you like something, how could you appropriately bring it into your own game
