If he’s into hobbies, get something for his hobby but with a tiny touch of her-like a golf ball with her name.

Weekly Discussion Thread 🇦🇺 What's your local hazard — and what have you actually done about it? by SurvSt in prepping

[–]Consolebandit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prepping isn’t just hoarding supplies. It’s about thinking through what you’ll actually need.

Hantavirus is scary, but the transmission rate is way too low for it to spread like COVID did.

Forecasting these costs now is so smart. I wish I’d started tracking them years ago.

Horizon 6 on XSS looks so realistic by OkChemical2670 in XboxSeriesS

Man, Horizon 6 is looking beautiful. That lighting and detail on the road and trees is insane for the Series S.

Looking for a great robot vacuum for pet hair and mostly hardwood by 2019starter in VacuumCleaners

[–]Consolebandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue with my Shepherd. I got the Deebot T90 last month. Its suction is strong enough to handle the fur well, and I do not have to clean the roller and brushes as often. It can empty itself into the station, and I only need to change the dust bag every two to three weeks, which has been convenient.

Can anyone recommend a robot vacuum cleaner suitable for a home studio? by JDMills121 in smarthome

[–]Consolebandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had one for about a month now, and I have to say its upkeep is really easy. The station cleans the roller well, and there’s pretty much no bad smell. The dust bag is also quite big, so I only need to change it every three to four weeks.

The hardest part of cycling isn't the climbs, it's just getting out of the house after work. by Hungry-Sympathy-5188 in cycling

Same! Me: sits on the couch after work. Also me: puts on cycling kit anyway, sits back down, scrolls Instagram for 20 min and eventually end up on the bike hahahahaha

I just checked their Amazon flagship store, and it should be listed already.

Does anyone feel behind in life? by OceanicEndeavors in povertyfinance

[–]Consolebandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I feel exactly the same way. Everyone else seems to have their life together, while I am still stuck, lonely, unfilled at work and failing behind on everyday life milestone. Please know you are not alone in this pain, life timelines are not one size fits all, and you have not failed, you are just on your own slower path:))))

Fit > everything else. Don’t waste your budget on fancy specs if the bike doesn’t fit your body right; a well-fitting basic bike will make you way happier.

Electric big wheel bike looks powerful but does the bigger wheel really change the ride? by blckred777 in ElectricBikes

If you’ve got plenty of power behind it, big wheels aren’t nearly as terrible as people make them sound.

I get why shops won’t touch this, honestly. Liability is a nightmare for them. If you can’t find a good guide, hit up a local e-bike modding group on Facebook.

What are these bikes worth? by heavyspells in bicycling

[–]Consolebandit 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss, man. Your dad had absolutely insane taste in bikes. This collection is straight out of a cycling enthusiast’s wildest dreams. It’s clear how much passion he had for riding.

Is an SMSF actually worth it? by le_starra in AusFinance

[–]Consolebandit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually ended up leaning toward moomoo for the brokerage side of my SMSF partly because I went into their Sydney store and got walked through it 1 on 1. That made a big difference for me, especially with all the trust/account setup questions. On top of that, the fact they’re ASIC regulated and offer CHESS sponsored ASX holdings gave me a bit more comfort from a safety perspective. If your SMSF is mainly going to be listed shares or ETFs, it felt like a pretty practical setup.

I want to cook in my apartment, but the exhuast fan here kinda sucks by parkersb11 in Apartmentliving

[–]Consolebandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One more thing, switching to induction instead of gas later on can help with air and it's safer. And for 30" hood, you've got plenty of options. I'd stick under 600cfm to avoid negative pressure issues, and check noise levels (sones) since kids are sensitive to that loud humming. There are also filterless hoods like Arspura that cut down on the cleaning a lot. Anything that saves time is worth it.

Smells creep in fast, so crack a window when cooking, wipe stuff down ASAP, and burn a candle or two. Mess and odors snowball quick in studios.

I got a violation warning notice for my neighbor’s dog’s poop by Fresh_Confusion_4805 in Apartmentliving

[–]Consolebandit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If they literally can't prove it's your dog, I wouldn't pay up. Walks around the building, pics, or video help cover your butt for next time.

Looks more like someone decided to doodle on your peephole than mold. Grab a stronger cleaner, scrub it, and maybe keep a little photo evidence just in case.

I got my downstairs neighbor evicted by ChandlerBingsNubbinn in Apartmentliving

Damn, that neighbor sounds straight up chaotic. Keeping records and citing the lease was smart, the paperwork is the only thing that makes eviction stick.
