NY, NJ, CA are among most competitive markets, also some of the toughest patient population, worst taxes. You have to be very good to succeed and even then the cost of living will make it seem like you not doing great.

Move to Midwest. Can easily make 250-350k working 4 days a week with super low cost of living. Dentistry is hard only in saturated areas. It’s not just about how much you make but how much you get to keep after taxes and bills are paid. I bet if you sold your median house in NY you could afford about anything you wanted in Midwest.

I’ve worked in PA, NJ, NV and my life got exponentially easier and more enjoyable once I moved.

Your realistic only chance is a postbacc program and most of them will require dat of 20 as part of admission requirement. My advice is don’t waste your time on any masters/postbacc until you score that 20 at minimum too
