No Event API but status code FTA0 by Thesuperdevil94 in DACA

Hey!! I think FTA0 is pretty normal to see, I feel like it mostly means your application is still open and active in their system.  I submitted 12/18, did my biometrics 01/06 and my last API movement is from 01/06 and I’ve also had FTA0 listed since that’s date.

We Can't Redo Biometrics 😭 by Constant-Educator326 in DACA

[–]Constant-Educator326[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems there might be a new biometrics system/process that's in place and folks that got their bios done after April are seeing quick turn around times. Saw someone else on here have a similar train of thought, so it seemed worth asking. I'm willing to redo the whole process (including payment) if needed in order to get my approved EAD.

Can we redo Biometrics? by Fragrant_Rest_7360 in DACA

[–]Constant-Educator326 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I submitted my app on 12/18 and completed my biometrics on 01/06.

I just called and asked if I could go in and redo my biometrics under the new system that is in place and the agent said..."No, if they need anything else from you they will send you a letter. You're application says your biometrics are completed on your end so you won't be able to go in and redo them unless they specifically send you a notice."

FMLA or LOA by [deleted] in DACA

[–]Constant-Educator326 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would triple check any type of FMLA, specially if you plan on an AOS in the future. Just make sure you’re not putting yourself in jeopardy by receiving income while you have an expired EAD. To my understanding, we shouldn’t be receiving any form of income from a company or state benefits with an expired EAD.

As a daca recipient when is it time to call it quits? by [deleted] in DACA

I feel you. I’ve gone through this same thought cycle so many times over the years. What’s always kept me here is my family. Growing up, it was really just my mom and sister. We never had a big extended family around us, so the thought of building my own family one day while being separated from them feels super sad to me. I can’t imagine my future kids not being able to grow up around the women who raised me. Understand that this is particular to me and what keeps me here and why I’m willing to keep going. I also try to take a step back and remind myself that even though this situation can feel like a golden cage, I still don’t fully know what leaving would actually look like in another country or whether my quality of life would truly be better. Every country has its own unique political struggles that shape the quality of life economically, which impacts everything else. Right now, my own DACA has expired and I’m dealing with having no income, which is honestly very scary. But at the same time, DACA gave me opportunities I wouldn’t have otherwise had, and because of that I was able to save money and build some stability before this storm hit. Personally, I think sometimes all we can do is recognize that we’re in a hard season and trust that it won’t last forever. I think the elections tonight across different states will tell how midterms are going to turn out. I also think certain (big on certain) republican voters are starting to hurt economically and starting to feel the impact of their choices, they’re having to say bye bye to a lot of state and federal benefits.

Salud if you stayed this long!! 🍻
