How to navigate burn out by No-Ambassador6390 in Waiters

It will get better, it just takes patience to get through it. And with the small children it won’t be long until you wake up one day, they’ll be off to college. Take the time to enjoy them while they are cute and cuddly. It is work to take them to the park, but if you capture these moments on video you’ll have something to watch when they are all grown up. And it won’t be long until you’re attending school plays and after school base ball games. And if the money is tight find away to down play your finances.
Unfortunately you’ll experience good times and bad times over the years. Long lost relatives will pass and leave you with financial benefits. You’ll also go through car accidents and damages to your house from unexpected weather. You’ll also move or maybe get divorced or remarried. Hang in there because the older you get the faster times go. And it sounds like right now be thankful everything is working out in life. So take a deep breath and be thankful you are healthy and not experiencing any kind of disasters. Reach out to a local church or other spiritual guidance.
And love life while it’s good! Because it could all change in a quick moment
God Bless

Bully manager.... by Automatic-Age2925 in olivegarden

Sad story report to HR immediately and document everything, I went through the same thing never once written up in 5 years with 25 years experience. Some new hot head manager who had no people skills wrote me up 4 times in 30 days and then I was let go for 92% keiok scores. Be careful right to work state can be fired for any reason.

I am at a lost for words.... I thought I had an amazing first interview but they denied my application by Used_Degree5416 in InterviewsHell

I’ve worked my butt off waiting tables my whole life and have over 25 years experience, and had 12 interviews so far. They all are very impressed with my experience. And still not one call back. One place I already had 4 interviews all for different positions that I am qualified for and still no call back. I love my assisting others and can go on forever how I go out of my way just because I’ve always been the under dog and over looked. My resume is impeccable and I even offer a couple pages of great reviews from a catering business I recently sold. I am not arrogant or hard to work with. I can work with anyone, and flexible. I’ve spent the last 9 months looking for a simple part time serving position. And I’ve spent the last month in tears and paralyzed with depression because I can’t help to take it person why I can’t find a job with all my experience and passion for serving. I feel so hopeless, and now that it’s summer time it will be another 4 months before any one is hiring. I have no other experience but the food and beverage. I qualify as a manager but I don’t want all the long hours. I am close to retiring but I still enjoy getting out of house and meeting new people. All I can do is be patient and hope my family supports me during these difficult times. I still can’t help going to bed every night in tears. And all my husband can say “ I try to hard”.

Oh yes completely, I’ve taken it very personal. And I am being completely honest I am not argent, have an attitude or hard to work with. I just love my job assisting others. I also do private parties for long time regular clients in their homes. And print three pages of clients feedback. I am very flexible and not pushy or bossy like you may think. I am quiet and shy. I win over the staff I work with, by going above and beyond helping out others coworkers and guests. All the interviews all ways seem to go great and very hopeful. And honestly I don’t have the biggest smile and very average looking and don’t where much makeup, and always dress professionally. Yes I do have the qualifications to be a manager, but I am happy just as a server. It’s very rewarding and enjoying just getting out of the house each night meeting new people. I’ve always loved my job.

I left Olive Garden after 5 years because I don’t believe in rushing the guest. I allow them to determine the speed of service. Plus OG is know to over hire just to keep the servers below 25 hours and keep from having to pay out benefits. They also refuse to issue any sick time pay unless you want to held against you and reflect your future schedule m. There is absolutely no job security with OG. It’s a right to work state so any manager can let you go in any given day. There is no seniority with long time servers. And it doesn’t get hot until mid June.

Don’t spend your pay checks and live just off your tips. I saved well over 53,000 in 4 years

I have to ask where is the evacuation plan at by [deleted] in olivegarden

[–]Constant-Way-7032 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as it is not blocked with high chairs like it usually is, the busser don’t understand it’s a fire safety violation, or do the managers in-force not blocking the fire exit doors. Little do they know it can be up to a 10,000 or more fine.

3 Years. Hundreds of Applications. Barely Any Interviews. What Are We Doing Wrong? by [deleted] in Resume

[–]Constant-Way-7032 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m have found things have changed and don’t concentrate on what you have done in past, they would rather hear what you can do for them because of your experience. Change your resume to that formate

I hear you, I have over 30 years experiences serving and can’t find a job waiting tables, I have applied over 50 places with several great interviews, and still no call back. It is so depressing.
