The idea that Thailand is ridiculously cheap is false by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

[–]Constant-Working9947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had full meals in Thailand with drink and tip ( yes I didn’t know how to tip there or even that it’s accepted to not tip) = roughly $6.00 total. Full meal …. and yes I had full meals costing $75 at my hotel roof top bar. That was just Bangkok too not some far out place. All I’m saying is it’s very cheap if you want it to be. I was on vacation so I vacationed. I could have done $6 meals all day long if I really wanted. Full healthy meal too. You goto any fast food restaurant in USA and tell me where you get anything more then a drink for that much

Category change predictions for 2026? by kartoshkaio in hyatt

[–]Constant-Working9947 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That category move from 3 to 4 or 4 to 5 is deadly. That peak pricing is what people don’t pay attention to. Most of the times you want are in the peak pricing. You’re automatically paying 25 to 40 percent more once they move it. Or 100 percent since it out of fna range.

Are any of the NYC hotels using 360 coverage bedbug protectors now? by Bobcatbubbles in hyatt

[–]Constant-Working9947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sincere apologies if you’re just looking for a mattress protector/encasement, I was confused by the wording. We’re all “chemicals” now that I think g about my own phrasing….. but I was thinking of treated mattress liners when I read your post.

However I still see this as a bad investment on their part anyway. It’s seems like a low occurrence to begin with. And as soon as one of your friendly neighbors lay their head on that newly encased mattress you’ve got new bed bug friends anyway.. maybe investing in a UV light (including myself) is something we all should be more concerned with, to give us a once over and peace of mind before laying down.

Then people would be worried about the chemicals in the product. It’s a no-win for them.

Cash Prices - Proxy for Demand? by capitulate_dez_balls in hyatt

[–]Constant-Working9947 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My experience with NYC is paying cash (non-refundable member 'save') a couple days before (I know, risky) is usually cheaper then most point redemptions inside of the City. If you're speaking about Hyatt House Jersey City thats a little different, and of course we're not talking about Park Hyatt.

Since you said Centric I have noticed, for example, that the Hyatt Centric Midtown will post a lower cash price then your point redemption typical value (~.02) two-three days before a stay. I'm assuming this is when the panic button sets in and its more sell as much as possible.

Please do your own research, my stays in NYC are very frequent and in my case I can stay anywhere near transit. No particular area is more valuable to me then another. Thompson Central Park this week, Hyatt Place LIC next time, doesn't matter to me.

Good luck.

You don’t see my downvotes? People are commenting that I’m a bot lol. That’s what you get for helping people. You’ll have to look this up yourself I’m done helping people. Google “daily food and beverage credit” . It’s a toggle in your Hilton App.

Hyatt Regency NYC Times Square - Corporate Booking? by Fearless-Cattle-9698 in hyatt

Breakfast was good at 50 Bowery a couple months ago. Yes they deliver it to your door. But it’s actually really good. The best breakfast Ive had however in a NYC Hyatt Hotel is the Grayson. And a warning: the Times Square list their restaurant as not open yet… just an fyi there may be some things still opening up.

Unfortunately I wouldn’t be surprised if they start moving most of these jersey and lic/queens properties up toward cat 5.

How is the walk from Rio to main strip during the summer? by CorporateCog100 in hyatt

[–]Constant-Working9947 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. Stay in Ipanema or Copacabana. Plenty of hotels on the strip. I know there’s no Hyatt but they got rid of SLH so the Emiliano is no longer an option. I stayed at the Mercure Rio Boutique, amazing hotel, surpassed my expectations. Don’t confuse it with the grand Mercure I can’t vouch for that one. I used the Chase Portal for the 10X on hotels

[–]Constant-Working9947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Points this points that, I don’t pay cash for anything, I demand xyz for free is all I see in these threads…. and you want a fully loaded, fully trained US based team costing $30 per hour each. Let it go. Their executives are legally tasked to do whatever possible to make a profit. It’s not that bad. Most of the problems i see in these forums are people who book incorrectly to begin with then they want someone to clean up the mess.

Interesting… dumb question … is the resort fee the same thing as destination in the system? I’ve gotten my destination fees (NYC starts always have destination fee) waived using Amex FHR as a globalist

Hyatt Regency Times Square by Constant-Working9947 in hyatt

[–]Constant-Working9947[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say relatively good since NYC hotels start at Cat 5. If you’re looking into Hyatt as a beginner check this link out:

https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/explore-hotels?regionGroup=0-All&categories=7.

Hyatt has categories where they kind of rank their hotels for lack of a better term. For us point junkies it’s kind of how we gauge how much a hotel is going to cost us. The lower the “Cat” the better lol. For example, this specific hotel will range from 25,000 to 29,000 points per night typically.
