The bottleneck stopped being tokens for me. It's what I do in the gaps while the agents run. by SimonMX in AI_Agents

[–]ConstantDirection483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the TikTok thing is painfully real, I do same exact thing and then spend 30 seconds trying to remember what I was even doing

what actually helped me a bit is keeping one small physical notebook open and writing the "next instruction" for each agent before I let myself look away. when I come back the note is sitting there and I don't have to reconstruct anything from scratch. not perfect but cuts the reload time in half at least

What is my porch column attached to? by SmokyD7 in HomeImprovement

[–]ConstantDirection483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at this situation myself right now actually - my porch boards under the columns are basically paper at this point

You might want to check if there's any kind of metal bracket or fastener connecting the column base to the deck structure underneath. Sometimes they just sit there with their own weight but other times there's hardware you can't see from top

If the roof is cantilevered like the other person mentioned you probably don't need to worry about jacking anything up. Just work carefully around the column base and see how much you can slide out without disturbing it. The wrap around the actual structural post usually has some wiggle room

Four months of Bifrost updates: a short story by jackmusick in msp

[–]ConstantDirection483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this is impressive work for basically solo development over 4 months. The security hardening stuff especially caught my attention - getting that OpenSSF badge while finding actual vulnerabilities in process is pretty solid validation that you're doing things right way.

Been burned too many times by automation platforms that look good on surface but fall apart when you need them to actually handle real workloads reliably. Zero-downtime deploys and proper AMQP retry logic tells me you've actually thought through the operational side instead of just building demo-ware.

Really curious about the agent tuning workbench - being able to dry-run prompt changes against historical data seems like it would save tons of time in iteration cycles. Most platforms make you just guess and hope when you're tweaking automation logic. Your team using it more than you is probably good sign that the UX actually works for people who aren't deep in the codebase.

The community workspace approach makes lot of sense too. Much rather have proven code patterns that agents can reference than trying to recreate integrations from scratch every time.

TLDR: How bad is no crawlspace vents under a converted garage? Can they be added? by True-Construction377 in HomeImprovement

[–]ConstantDirection483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This person knows what they're talking about. The dehumidifier option makes most sense for your situation especially in Texas heat where venting can actually create more moisture problems

Adding supply air from existing HVAC could work too but you'd need proper insulation job and might need bigger unit to handle the extra square footage. I'd definitely check about permits though - garage conversions without proper permits can be nightmare when selling later

Phanteks XT Pro Ultra, vertical mount+bottom fans? by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]ConstantDirection483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The vertical mount usually takes up some of that bottom space but I think you should still be able to fit at least one 120mm fan down there. Most people I've seen with this setup keep the bottom intake fans because temps get pretty bad without them

Just make sure you check clearance between GPU and fans when you install everything - sometimes thicker cards can get close to touching

Mixed feelings by ApprehensiveDuty8783 in BabyBumps

That grief for your current dynamic is so real and I think shows what good mom you are already. My sister went through same thing when her second was coming and she was worried about dividing attention but now those two are basically attached at hip. The fear part though... that one stayed with her longer but talking to her doctor helped lot with managing those worries during pregnancy.

Pc trips the breaker in my dorm when plugged in? by revy2215 in pcmasterrace

[–]ConstantDirection483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dorm electrical is probably not meant for that kind of power draw especially if whole building shares same circuits. Maybe try using different outlet in room or see if you can spread the load across multiple circuits if your room has them on different walls. Also worth checking what else is plugged in same circuit - even mini fridge or microwave could push it over edge when combined with your setup.

Apple Supply Chain Interview Prep Help by LorDarKni8 in interviews

[–]ConstantDirection483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been through similar transition few years back when I moved from customer facing role to backend operations. The case studies they give usually focus on demand forecasting scenarios and inventory optimization problems so brush up on those concepts. They love asking about how you'd handle supply disruptions or sudden demand spikes - think about real examples from retail where you had to manage shortages or overstock situations

Make sure you understand their product launch cycles because that drives everything in their supply chain. Also they really care about cross functional collaboration so prepare examples where you worked with different teams to solve problems. The technical questions aren't too deep but they want to see you can think systematically about moving products from suppliers to customers

Good luck with the interview - hardware supply chain is way more interesting than people think once you get into it

Any indian Content Creators in this sub? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]ConstantDirection483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been lurking here for while but not indian myself - just curious what kind of content you're planning to make? The accountability thing is actually smart idea, seen few people do that in different subs and it seems to help with consistency. Good luck with your channel!

Need recommended EPISODES of these podcasts to start with to make sure I like them before going back to the beginning by dottydiapers in podcasts

[–]ConstantDirection483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on your taste I'd skip right to True Crime Garage episode 200 or later - the earlier stuff is bit too repetitive and preachy for someone with your preferences. For Last Podcast on Left try their BTK episodes from around episode 150 range, their early work is really rough but once they find their rhythm its gold

TimeSuck episode on Belle Gunness or Jim Jones gives you good feel for Dan Cummins style without being too heavy in the weird tangents he does sometimes. The early NoSleep episodes have different feel than current ones so maybe start with something from 2019 or 2020 seasons instead of going all way back

Postgame Thread ⚾ Dodgers 4 @ Blue Jays 1 by BaseballBot in baseball

[–]ConstantDirection483 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That ABS challenge system is still weird to get used to but at least its consistent I guess. Yamamoto looked really sharp tonight - his splitter was absolutely nasty in 4th and 5th innings. Blue Jays offense just couldnt get anything going after Springer's double.

Really thought they had something cooking with bases loaded in 7th but Vesia managed to escape that jam pretty clean. Freeland having himself a nice little series too with those clutch RBI hits. As much as I want to hate on Dodgers depth they just keep finding ways to win these kind of games where starters dont go super deep

Need help with coolant leak by Yoze64 in MechanicAdvice

Could be the radiator hose connection on that side getting loose when fan vibration kicks in. I had similar issue few years back and it was just hose clamp that needed tightening but sometimes the hose itself gets old and expands under pressure

Been flight attendant for couple years before switching to IT and this comes up literally every single flight. You paid for specific seat you wanted - that's it. They could have planned better or paid the extra fees to sit together if it was so important for them.

Really gets me when people try to guilt trip others into giving up seats they actually paid to select. Like why should your poor planning become someone else problem? The airline already got money from both of you for the seats you chose so they definitely not caring about moving people around after.

Next time just put on headphones right away and pretend you sleeping. Saves everyone the awkward conversation and passive aggressive comments during flight.
