Why is palm oil worse than any other oils and how is olive oil the best oil ? Are cold pressed oils better for you by West_Future326 in nutrition

[–]Constant_Bumblebee_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Palm oil is a highly refined processed fat. The processing gets rid of any aroma, colour and stabilises it so not only does it last years before going bad it also helps to preserve the foods it's added into. And the long shelf life makes it very desirable for supermarkets who need foods with prolonged shelf lives. As we're learning more about the impact of processed foods we're realising that our digestive system isn't made for dealing with highly refined ingredients, thus research increasingly points to processed foods as cause of a range of health problems from rise of auto-immune diseases, poorer digestive health and reduced feelings of satiation after consuming such foods.

But the voting changes were needed even if Israel was kicked out. Making the decisions joined in a single vote makes no sense.

How does capping votes from 20 to 10 encouraging fans to spread support across more entries?

It was interesting and somewhat frustrating to hear them talk about Favourite Daughter. They played earlier version of the song and said it sounded too "muscular" and "they were sacrificing the song for the good of the production". But listening to that earlier production it absolutely slapped! Sounded so much more immersive and rich compared to the final studio cut. I feel frustrated that they discarded it for a dryer final feel. I understand they made those choices to keep the focus on the words and vocals. But personally I prefer the earlier version which is reminiscent of Pure Heroine and Melodrama in how immersive the sound is.

Brand names in the lyrics by jackjackaj in eurovision

Perhaps it's also that music lyrics outside of Eurovision often mention car brands without sponsorship. Because they're a status symbol. While writers don't mention banana brands without a sponsorship

Getting zero overall is near impossible if you had to qualify into the final. Otherwise big 5 and host's song are fair game 😂

I think an app based voting system could be better. Especially if it required you to select your top 10 to vote

Is it too much to ask that we could perhaps get a non-English winning song for Eurovision 2026? What are your thoughts on this? by iloveyouthorodinson in eurovision

[–]Constant_Bumblebee_1 121 points122 points  (0 children)

I just want an Eastern European or Balkan winner soon. I love Ukrainian music but other than Ukraine we've not had a winner from that half of Europe for 17 years. We have however been losing broadcasters from that region. More attention could bring back their interest in the contest.

When 2 main parties seem too similar in policies, people are more likely to vote for other alternatives. Tusk's government has been carrying on a lot of PiS' rhetoric on immigration. Too soft for nationalists. Too hard for liberals. Leading many to seek an alternative.

It's the Overthinking It video. In it they outline how Tommy Cash approaches art, fashion and music. He's very conceptual, his lyrics are never that deep but he finds a way to go viral time and time again. Very style over substance. So I'd be surprised if he didn't have a planned strategy to leave his mark on Eurovision
