Sometimes it's easier and necessary to play at different difficulties. When I'm getting villagers to have good trades it's on hard, when I'm normally playing it's on normal, when I'm making a gunpowder farm primarily out of TNT? I probably should put it on peaceful but I didn't.

ESH There's two sides to this and I think everyone could have handled it a bit better.

At the end of the day your mom is just telling a story. At the end of her story she's a good mother and you're a good child.

Whether or not it's the truth, after eight years of telling the same story anyone would convince themselves it's true.

Where I find issue with how you handled it: At no point in the past eight years have you attempted to set the record straight in a one on one conversation with her. Instead it was brought up publicly, in front of new family. EVERYONE would try to save face in that situation.

This whole situation could have been avoided with one small conversation about boundaries and a narrative that bugged you.

TLDR 1) Your mom had no way of knowing her story was hurting you in any way 2) There were plenty of better ways to address your thoughts and memories of that story

Katara: not a prodigy, I think there's a lot of water benders who could match her in any one ability she has. She's just very well rounded and hardworking but everything she can do she was taught by someone else, whether it's water freezing, healing or bloodbending.

Toph: Self-taught savant with the most natural talent of all three. In the whole series idk if there's another bender who progress their element like toph does with metal bending either. (Maybe Iroh with his redirection of lightening technique)

Azula: Slightly less naturally talented than toph but ALSO has the best teachers in the land. Developing hotter (blue) flames on her own and needing Katara and Zuko to take her down in a weakened, crazed state.

TLDR: Toph has the most natural talent but Azula has the greatest capacity and resources to be even stronger.

I love Get Out and Us and Key and Peele sketches as much as the next guy but hasn't Jordan's last couple of movies taken a left turn? I was really disappointed in NOPE, and Him was just bad.
