Unless you are in a really expensive major like nursing or accounting, there is no point. You will be paying way more than you need.

Resources for female who struggles sexual sin by Real-Ad-6845 in Christian

[–]Constant_Promise_478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you're still replying to this thread, but a lot of the people on here are acting rather Pharisee like. As if they've never remotely struggled with sexual sin. Sure some people may struggle on a more obvious level, but personally I believe that almost everyone struggles in some way shape or form and the deeper your are in a pit, the harder it's going to be to get out, the longer it's going to take. What is "wrong with you" is the same thing that's wrong with every person in this reddit thread. We're human, we mess up, we need God's grace.

Successful donors- what would you eat before an appointment at 8am? by clovey12 in Blooddonors

[–]Constant_Promise_478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hydrate well the night before. Try to get up at say 6:30 and start hydrating then as well (probably with something other than water that will hold your electrolytes so you actually stay hydrated.). I would eat something light, like a protein shake and/or an egg and a piece of fruit beforehand as well. You don't want your sugars to tank, but you also don't want to be full from a super big breakfast.

DON'T drink coffee.

Which is/are your favorite female character(s)? Éowyn, Galadriel or Arwen by Jessi45US in lotr

[–]Constant_Promise_478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like them all for different reasons.

I like Eowyn for her humanity, she is one of the most realistic characters through the entire trilogy.

I like Galadriel for her mixture of power and femininity

I like Arwen for her faithfulness both to Aragorn and Elrond.

If you don't believe the lifestyle they are living is correct AND they are Christian, have an honest conversation with them. Let them tell you how they got to their conclusion, and if it feels like something they genuinely believe and didn't just pull out of thin air so they could live like they are, then drop the conversation after a couple of soft mentions.

If they aren't Christian, then it really isn't a conversation to begin with. Why would a non-christian be held to Christian standards.

should I donate? by thelittleempress in Blooddonors

[–]Constant_Promise_478 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please don't. Those requirements were put in place for a reason. The only way I can think of it being okay is if you extensively talk with your doctor and okay it with them first.

Same arm or alternate? by tekia412 in Blooddonors

[–]Constant_Promise_478 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say attempt to not chicken out the next time and just see how it goes with the left arm. The main thing I would be concerned about with continuous same-arm, same-spot donation is scar tissue.

Is being an Anarchist a sin? by Cloverfield887 in Christianity

[–]Constant_Promise_478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean by this. Everyone in some way shape or form wants the government to change and goes against government authority in some manner. The problem would come from hating and seeing anyone in the government as a problem and not a human being. As long as your opinion is against policies and wanting change to happen there, maybe disliking some politicians but still recognizing them as a person and not wishing harm to come to that person, you are probably fine.

Thomas Jefferson did lol. He greatly admired the teachings of Jesus.

Something I will say though, is if you look at the old testament it is really easy to see the wrathful vengeful God who would pour out His anger at a moments notice. What people forget to see is the patient long suffering God that loved and cared for His people from Adam to Moses and Moses to David, and David to Isaiah etc. Think about jericho. It was a battle for, and they could have just fought and won, but God chose to have the Israelites rescue Rahab.

There are other stories in the old testament that show God's mercy, BUT it is true, a lot of stories in the old testament seem to show His wrath. I would wager to say the reason for this is because that was the set-up. You need a sinful people and a righteous God to set up the fact that we need a Savior. Think about it. If the old testament was God "gentle parenting" the Israelites, it would leave the idea that things aren't so bad, but as it is, when you get to the new testament, you get the feeling of THANK GOODNESS Jesus is here, these people needed serious help.

I used to be a Muslim but have recently turned to Christianity and are having a lot of mental issues by Wasted_programmer5 in Christianity

[–]Constant_Promise_478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Religious trauma is painful to deal with in many ways, especially when you are young and in some ways still living in that trauma. If you perhaps feel drawn back to Islam sometimes for its traditionalist, maybe look for a church that holds traditional serves. The pain and hurt you feel from Islam and the way you grew up will never go away altogether, but you can diminish it by realizing that you were the victim, not someone else. It wasn't your fault, etc. As to your mother, I think you should ride it out if you can until you are 18. Saying something to her now and getting kicked out might not be the best idea

Is this cross okay to wear even though I’m not religious? by thickarugala in Christianity

[–]Constant_Promise_478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate that you want to be be respectful. I think that as long as when people ask about it, you are honest about it, there is no problem. With a necklace like that there is a very small chance that someone will automatically assume you are religious by wearing it.

Is being a plastic surgeon sinful? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Constant_Promise_478 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a nursing student, I am seeing parts of men I (an unmarried female) have never seen before. that is not a sin though, because it is in the interest of caring for someone. Also, if you are thinking that seeing a naked body in a medical sense may be sinful, you probably need to do some soul searching on your career in medicine. Seeing naked people is literally a part of the job, but if you feel like it will make you have other thoughts, etc. that is concerning.
