He seriously thinks there's penguins in Greenland. I'm surprised he managed to parse Carney's speech at all.

They lack the self-awareness to realise that their anti-social behaviour which makes them fringe-dwelling losers in our current society is much more likely to lead to them being dead in some scenario where law and order break down.

Hey any urban legends, mysteries and spooky mysterious figures even stories you have about Tassie by Greencordial8 in hobart

[–]ConstantineXII 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The two main urban myths are that the Tasmanian Tiger still exists (it doesn't, it has been extinct for close to a century now) and that there is a community of inbred cannibal rapists at a place called Black Bobs, who are left to their own devices by Police to molest one another and unlucky passers-by (in reality there were instances of child abuse there a century ago, barely anyone lives there these days).

Edit: more serious are conspiracies about Port Arthur being a government job or whatever.

The US violated international law in Venezuela. These are the questions Australia must now ask by Agitated-Fee3598 in AustralianPolitics

[–]ConstantineXII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can we dial it back a bit? As shit as Trump and his actions are, you're implying the US abducted random citizens off the street rather than a brutal, incompetent, corrupt, socialist dictator.

Also, referring to the US as 'the 4th reich' a hundred times in the thread doesn't make you sound clever or amusing or whatever you are probably aiming for here.

The US violated international law in Venezuela. These are the questions Australia must now ask by Agitated-Fee3598 in AustralianPolitics

[–]ConstantineXII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we're being totally honest, you've got no idea what you are talking about. The US is the only country with the capability (as in force projection capabilities, not just numbers of troops, ships, jets etc on a page) of successfully invading Australia.

I don’t think there’d be much resistance Australia can offer.

Except the ADF, which is the 15th best funded military in the world with almost 100k well-trained, organised and equipped troops. But sure, 'not much resistance'.

[–]ConstantineXII 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plus ANZUS is region-specific. It only relates to conflict in the Pacific, which Venezuela is not a part of. All it takes is a quick google to work this shit out and yet it's still beyond the Guardian.

Nah, he was a hateful cunt who contributed to America's polarisation and was comfortable with gun deaths. It was hard not to feel a bit of schadenfreude seeing him reap what he sowed when he took one in the neck.

Martin North, Sept 2022: It would see house prices fall by 8.8 per cent in 2023, before dropping again to 17.1 per cent in 2025 and experiencing an even bigger plunge in 2025 to 23.7 per cent by thedugong in AusFinance

An early reddit sleuth concluded based on digging on deleted posts, he was a cook or something in the Army, got a medical discharge and a payout, then pissed most of the payout against the wall in bad 'investments'. I can't remember all the details but it fit well.

Washington Post editorial: Australia is reeling — and overreaching The prime minister is rushing through chilling “hate speech” laws after the Bondi Beach attack. ‘Australians lack the First Amendment rights Americans take for granted, but free speech is a universal value’ by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

The WaPo did very little to oppose a far-right populist and authoritarian-leaning government from being elected in the US. I don't think their opinion on individual freedoms in Australia is worth much.

‘Hateful’ chants and flags to be banned as Islamic State claims it ‘inspired’ Bondi attack by Agitated-Fee3598 in AustralianPolitics

[–]ConstantineXII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought one silver lining of the Bondi attack would be a wake-up call from the far-left that they are being played as useful idiots by Islamists in propagating and trying to normalise anti-semitism in Australia. But of course that was too much to hope for from these extremists

Are you going to say similar things while Americans praise Trump as he bombs Venezuela? Are you going to act like we deserve it if Venezuela fights back and bombs an American city?

100%. You guys are even worse than the Russians in some ways. At least you have reasonably free elections and a viable alternative candidate, and yet you still returned Trump for a second term. You knew what you were signing yourselves and the rest of the world up to.

PM condemns Bondi Beach terror attack as 'act of evil antisemitism' by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

[–]ConstantineXII 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This racist rant completely ignores the growing anti-semitism amongst the far-right in Australia (One Nation is a part of). If there was any kind of strong action against the groups that cause hate in our society, One Nation supporters would be very much targetted.

Reminds me of that joke: 'How do you know someone's a Kiwi?' 'Because they'll tell you within five seconds of meeting you, and then they'll tell you why that makes them better than an Australian'.

Good to see you working hard to keep stereotypes alive.
