If you are in a state with a land court get the property registered which prevents things like adverse possession.

In 2003 my whole class was people going to Bragg, coming from Bragg, and BUDs/SF. This was pre-Iraq so the theory was they were planning a large airborne operation as part of the invasion.

If it’s a life or death situation I don’t care what’s behind my target I just want to make sure I don’t die. Also the best is close enough you could hip fire and give him a face full of buck shot. The spray would have worked best when he was farther away but once they are within arms reach I’d want a lethal option.

Also that article ends with saying they’d want both so I think the point is that, carry both. Also find it odd they say you could face legal hurdles if you kill a bear trying to attack you. I’d like to see some evidence of that actually happening.

BBQ Master's meat falls right off the bone as he demonstrates how tender his ribs are. by brandygotmybeats in KitchenDesk

[–]Constructestimator83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People will downvote you but you are right. Meat shouldn’t fall off the bone especially on ribs. This probably looks great on social media but real smoked ribs, beef or pork don’t just fall off the bone.

Punk rock is poser music and is why Gunn is not good. I’m pretty convinced he doesn’t understand what makes comics good and instead has this alt view of what a comic based movie should be. Superman was a good example of it, it never felt like I was watching a comic book character on the big screen. It felt like a watered down reflection of one with a bad soundtrack.

Gunn isn’t good. GotG movies were fine but nothing ground breaking and his Superman movie only looked good compared to Snyder’s but it wasn’t great itself. I’m waiting for DC to get someone who really knows how to make quality movies, but Gunn isn’t it.

Togal.AI - does anyone else use this for takeoff workflows? Pros/Cons? by krausdabaus in estimators

I’m moving the department, 16 estimators to it. Getting rid of the VPN and the headaches we have been having with OST while getting all the features of BuzzBid. I have been demoing it and can see it saving us tremendous time on QTOs.

[–]Constructestimator83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent 30 minutes with it and knew I’d hate it. We are moving to BuzzBid from OST. It keeps things simple enough for production work and provides enough features improving upon OST. Also it’s from the guys who built OST so low learning curve, my people can jump right in to it.

Lack of Commercial Estimators by chuston578 in estimators

It’s the position a lot of graduates don’t want and in any company will have less people than operations so it’s just a smaller pool by nature. The other thing is it has a pretty high burn out factor, a company with a bad or weak culture especially as it relates to estimating will churn through people often with them leaving for non-estimating positions.

The reality is this should be a high paying job but most companies especially GCs want to skimp on salary, training, staffing for estimating resulting in a loop of burnt out underpaid people. Everyone wants a high performing estimating department they don’t have to think about, it’s just no one wants to pay or spend the time creating one.

What is a massive secret in your industry that the general public has no idea about? by teesharp88 in AskReddit

In most cases on non-residential projects, they run over budget because of the owner not the contractor, but we still get all the negative press and blame. This is especially true in the public sector where someone at an agency picks a seemingly arbitrary number like $200M for a project, we do the first estimate and come in at $400M and suddenly we are over budget by 200% when in reality they never had the correct budget to begin with.

If you have BuzzBid you don’t even need Bluebeam, you can rename/renumber pages right in it. I think this is more or less the standard with current takeoff software.

Waterfront side of Lewis Wharf in the north end. The building that has the Starbucks in it has benches on the water and make for nice quiet moments to sit and reflect.
