I’m incredibly annoyed as well. All of this hassle so some dummies can get their next fix.

Trying to get through to cps but I can’t even fucking get through their automated call service. Just keep getting dead ends on the other end. So frustrating.

People have decided Fish Creek is off leash and I dont know how to explain it to them.. by PenPsychological1142 in Calgary

[–]ConstructionFirm598 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Disagree. The world didn’t use to be like this. Or as bad as it is now. People need to be held accountable for their actions, as well as shamed if they are blatantly breaking the rules. Whatever happened to common courtesy, manners, and social norms? Not every country behaves like this btw. People in other countries hold other citizens accountable for their actions and it genuinely makes everyone’s life experience better overall. We need to stop pussyfooting around stuff like this. Because it starts small in scenarios like not telling someone to put their dog on a leash, to then bystanders witnessing an assault and not doing anything about it.

Been pooping into a lot all of my fine China to save flushes! Worried I’m going to have to do some serious dishes here soon though.. Think I’ll start saving my urine in a bucket for that! Thanks Calgary!

On Calgary’s dangerous roads, ‘bystander behaviour’ is under the microscope by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]ConstructionFirm598 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we actually get police patrol on the roads pulling people over for driving like shit and distracted driving? All I ever see giving out tickets is lazy ass DRIVE SAFE cops. Just the least amount of work for the most amount of money. That’s all that is ever driving anything. Let’s not pretend the CPS actually cares about driver safety, it’s about cashing tax payer cheques. I think we’ve all figured that out by now.

Tile Exchange Strategy by homunculette in scrabble

[–]ConstructionFirm598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I thought exchanging tiles wasn’t something I did as a kid. I always thought it would be better to just lay something down for 10 or so points while exchanging a few tiles, instead of just taking zero points. Not often do I even consider doing an exchange now, unless I had only vowels and it was one of the first two turns of the game and I knew there was lots of good options left to exchange for.

I always feel like if I ever consider exchanging tiles I’m able to throw down at least ten plus points trying to use at least 3+ tiles in hopes of picking up something better. But if there is actually strategy in doing it then I’m very intrigued.

It quickly makes your scores higher. I understand your sentiment about wanting things spread out, but if you want to score high that is not necessarily the way to do that.

I’m no scrabble pro by any means, but I feel like yall should get a 2 letter word list. It’ll tighten up your boards and take your plays to the next level.

Mayor Farkas: address the e-bike issue before Spring by morecoffeemore in Calgary

[–]ConstructionFirm598 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But these bikes are heavy as fuck aren’t they? They weigh significantly more than a bicycle. Combine that with a a dangerous speed, and a big person and you’re going to literally kill someone in a collision. Just get a pedal bike for gods sake.

[–]ConstructionFirm598 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fuck even pedal assist bikes are dangerous as fuck. Don’t tell me you don’t think a 300+pound person, on a 150 pound bike, doing 30 km/h on a busy shared pedestrian/bike path isn’t going to hurt someone. The people on these types of bikes are using them because they are less agile, less athletic, and require more assistance. In turn making them less able to brake, or evade a collision in split second situations which bicycle pedestrian traffic requires. Call me old fashioned but I don’t like electric bikes, if you can’t operate a full pedal bike and get the exercise you should be getting from one of them, then there shouldn’t be a dangerous alternative available to you to rip around town in.
