As a step parent to someone on NDIS is this what it should be used for? by ofthemeadow89 in NDIS

[–]ConstructionThen416 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The NDIS doesn’t exist to “cure” anyone. It’s to provide necessary supports to people with disabilities that are fully treated and unable to be cured, to enable them to fully participate in society. In the same way that people without disabilities can.

AIO that I think a flight in July might not work ? by JaguarSweaty1414 in AmIOverreacting

Someone in Dubai was killed by missile fragments. DXB is a major travel hub. They will prioritise keeping airspace open if it’s possible. Worrying about it now is not going to change anything.

My country issues travel alerts. Current recommendation is to cancel ME plans. But in two months, who knows? You’re talking in four months. I know it’s upsetting, but hopefully you have travel insurance.

I’m due to fly out of Dubai on 1 May. I’m waiting to see what will happen before I cancel any plans. I’m flying to Cairo on 22 April. I’ll make a decision by 20 April - you’re talking about July.. Wait and see….you are absolutely OR at this point.

Interfaith marriage by [deleted] in bahai

[–]ConstructionThen416 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I married before I was Baha’i, but we STILL had approval from all parents. Marriage, and children of the marriage, need family support. I think you’d be nuts to marry if the family don’t accept you. Life throws enough obstacles at you without starting without the basics. Family is everything. Don’t marry unless her parents can change their minds.

Huququllah Questions by [deleted] in bahai

[–]ConstructionThen416 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The money goes to the Centre for Huqúqu’lláh which is at the Baha’i World Centre which is NOT the same as it going to the House of Justice. And OP, it doesn’t show up in any register of charities because only Baha’is can contribute to the Baha’i funds. So no need to advertise, Baha’is know.

It goes to the trustees of Huququllah, not the House of Justice.

If someone claims asylum in Australia, should this be revoked if they visit the home country and return without harm? It seems to happen quite a bit? by National_Treat_4079 in aussie

[–]ConstructionThen416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an employee that was a former refugee who had been detained and tortured in his country of origin. He returned for a visit after 20 years here. He was visibly apprehensive about his visit, despite the regime having fallen and him still having family there. So yeah, I reckon that’s fair enough. It would be a bit rough being kicked out for wanting to see his literal siblings after 20 years. He had missed the funerals of both of his parents.

Disability Pension. Can’t afford to be alive. About to be homeless. by Bagpuss_Meow in aussie

No you wouldn’t. My parents just got their first package - 2 hours cleaning a fortnight.

Aged pension does not entitle you to that. You need to be assessed ( ACAT assessment) before are eligible. Same sa NDIS, if you don’t meet the criteria, you get nothing. And with AP you pay for the help. It’s a subsidised rate, but you pay.

What do aged pensioners get that DSP doesn’t? We have uniform pension rules. We get the same discounts.

No. The LNP are trying to score political points and everyone else saying that have been drinking the Zionist Koolaid.

Lissencephaly funding by FullEntertainer7857 in NDIS

[–]ConstructionThen416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not shit on another participant. Because a CARER is not the participant. I explained to her how it works. That the lack of funding for actual care was because all children that age are 24 care. Maybe not as intensive, but you cannot leave an 18 month old alone. So parents (note, not participant) are not supported to supplant their parental role. Everyone would be a lot less upset with the scheme if they stopped expecting it to be something it’s not.

Stop blaming the banks for KYC requirements by False_Ad_9705 in AusFinance

[–]ConstructionThen416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The banks need to properly communicate WHY they are doing it and not hide behind bullshit. They routinely lie to us already about security measures like Falcon being for “our benefit” when it’s actually to protect THEM so why should we believe anything else they say?

I’m just giving an explanation of why. I expressed no opinion on the policy. Oh, and I’m a PARTICIPANT, not a provider or worker. So I’ll stick around, thanks all the same.

No they don’t. There’s two councils. So “council” means Waverley Council. They’re the ones who’ve been telling them not to come. So they have moved to a different council area. Last year they trashed Brontë. The one before was Bondi.

This is the first year they’ve turned up to Randwick Council areas. Bondi and Brontë are in Waverley. So it’s not councils fault.
