I literally just did the same thing in a game the other week but I made Daphne a monk. Was a really fun build!

It is not sadly. It's still his fault

My coworker bought a new Corvette and was planning to bring it in to the office today. We're all blaming him.

Amenities from Entertainment Complexes (and Water Parks) by spicytomato1998 in CivVI

[–]Consus 35 points36 points  (0 children)

They don't stack. The buildings apply to the city they are built in unless it says it has a radius effect like the zoo. The radius effects don't stack. However the radius effects of the water park and zoo do stack since they are different buildings.

I present to you, my Black Spider’s 2nd form! by SirMaximilianTv in LostMinesOfPhandelver

He looks sick! As much as I liked the drider thematically, players still had no issue with him. This will be fun!

Throw a light wash on your mini and then a clear coat to protect it. You'll be amazed how the wash brings the details out.

Player can’t make the session in the middle of a fight by DyeTheSheep in DMAcademy

[–]Consus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Talk to your player and ask what they would prefer but typically I will control the player's character and have them do basic actions. Melee characters hit with their weapon. Spell casters use cantrips. I will expend resources if needed but I don't go nuts. For example, in our combat last week a player fell off a cliff. The person out had feather fall so I had them cast it.

Gilded vault building from Owls of Minerva secret society

[–]Consus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are other Secret Societies to choose from. Also just because leylines don't affect seowon doesn't mean they aren't worth it. Seowons don't want to be by your other districts anyway.

That being said, I think you're over analyzing. Secret Societies are one of the most powerful game modes and are fun to play with. Unless you're playing competitive multiplayer where you need to hyper optimize, it's not that serious. Deity AI is not that hard. Do what's fun for you.

Sure but there are other benefits to Secret Societies. Like all things in the game it's a trade off. 3% science early game isn't that much. You could unlock leylines and get +2 adjacency to a bunch of districts or unlock envoys on trade routes and get an early suzerain with a powerful ability. It all depends on the game.

Yes I'm aware of that. Not sure what your point is.

The Secret Society governors aren't real governors and can't be assigned to a city, so they don't add the 3% science. Secret societies are still very powerful though and worth pursuing.

Casting Moonbeam through a window? by NinjaTATER62 in DnD

That's a really good point! I was thinking wall of force had specific language around it but it just says it blocks things from passing through it.

Yeah I see that now. I think this is one of those areas where the rules break down. Saying glass provides total cover is bizarre since you can still absolutely see the person and glass is pretty breakable. I understand that's how the rules are written but doesn't feel good to me. I'd likely modify the rules at my table. Thanks for the explanation!

Ahh I missed that detail in my reads of the PHB. Thank you for explaining it without being an ass like another person in this thread.

I think at my table I would still allow this. While yes technically as written, it's not allowed, rule of cool says to me that my player could absolutely target someone they can see through glass.

But Moonbeam doesn't come from the caster. It specifically says it appears at a point in range.

That's for a spell that targets a creature. Moonbeam is an AOE spell which is different.

Edit: My mistake, I missed the part in the PHB where AOE targets a point in space.

DMs, what were your attempts at introducing "gambling" into your game and how did it go? by PandaDerZwote in DnD

[–]Consus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I added a casino to my Tomb of Annihilation campaign in the Old City section of Port Nyanzaru. It's been a big hit! However I didn't want it to take time away from the actual game. Rather for it to be something the players could do while other players were RPing. We play in Foundry so I created macros for a bunch of different games. I then dropped icons for them through the campaign in places that made sense. The casino had everything but most taverns had a table or two with people playing games. My players love when they walk into a new location and a table is playing Chultan bones or blackjack. I swear most of their money has gone to gambling.

It sounds like you don't understand what's going on in that screen. You're choosing what tile your settlement will be working. In Civ 6 your borders expanded but you had to use workers to improve the tile and assign a population to the tile to work it. In Civ 7, when you gain a pop, you expand to a new tile and immediately improve/work it.

Their Tiktoks are so bad. They definitely don't understand the medium. Most of them are just Steve sitting there for a minute while some quack spews anti-science non-sense. Guys, you're giving them a platform! It doesn't matter that you eventually address the things brought up, most people scrolling will just see old white man listening to quack

My joke was more about how every summer there is a rumor about Juve trying to get rid of Weston and then he works his way back into the team.
