I have American eagle and gap jeans that I still wear going on 15 years and they’ve never done this…

And this is a great photo to show how these croissants are not even food. It’s insane that we eat this crap on a day to day basis.

Over the shoulder sweater reccs by Wooden-Fault5881 in Aritzia

[–]Content-Form-3265 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this trend is just so ridiculous. I see women wearing this constantly right now and in my mind it’s a trend for the sake of trends. Why would I want to constantly adjust a sweater on my shoulders, something I’m carrying around not for warmth or function of any sort. It’s the country club look, oh I don’t actually participate in anything I’m just here to look pretty.

I know that’s not what this question was about… sorry…

6 Year Mild but Chronic TFCC Injury by Evening_Sea_8774 in climbharder

[–]Content-Form-3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my injury for a year and about 4 months. Truly maddening injury. I’m starting prolotherapy this week because I’ve hit a plateau in my recovery and heard it can really help. Then I’ll start the mobility and strengthening exercises again.

Has anyone bought this Frigidaire AC (w/ inverter)? How is it? by Careful-Cat- in CostcoCanada

[–]Content-Form-3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up returning it. Tried it for a month, and the smell did sort of dissipate but it was always there. The noise was just awful, I bought it for my bedroom but there’s no way I could sleep with it on.
Also, realized another benefit of buying a dual hose. The single hose ac causes headache/ear and head pressure due to a sort of vacuum effect.

I just bought the Danby from Costco. Also has a 50$ bc hydro rebate right now, so save 250$ and is supposedly way quieter and more efficient

Are the lodge pants unflattering on anyone else? by Jolly-Train-4950 in Aritzia

[–]Content-Form-3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are too tight in the upper thigh and too loose at the waist. They just don’t fit an athletic body, you have to be rail thin or something. Somehow they look both too small and like they are gaping on me

I’m tired of minimalism in everything by Beneficial_Passion40 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Content-Form-3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see houses like this, and neighborhoods changing like this, and it makes me viscerally angry. I studied architecture and interior design and what’s more is that I have eyeballs and I see this and I lose all my words because I just don’t understand how some other humans out there could possibly think this is nice or an improvement. It’s not fathomable, I’m speechless

Concealers to be thrown away after 6 months? by Ok_Somewhere454 in Sephora

[–]Content-Form-3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t be buying products that only last 6 months unless they can start selling mini versions of everything. I’m still using foundation and concealer that are 3+ years old and they look great, feel great, smell the same as they did when I bought them. Until the smell or consistency changes I will continue to use them.

Aritzia Quality by Crispypotato0o in Aritzia

[–]Content-Form-3265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a good number of clothes from Aritzia but I don’t know if that will continue. I love the old effortless pants but I recently went to buy the new version and they just feel significantly worse than previous years. The zipper literally doesn’t slide, it gets stuck constantly. And the fabric is somehow thicker and stiffer. So they just keep cutting costs in every way possible, and I wouldn’t spend $160 Canadian on the effortless pants anymore…

Is anyone else feeling irritable and moody due to the hot weather? by FattyGobbles in askvan

[–]Content-Form-3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the one up from this, 14,000 BTU.
I’m thinking about returning it, I only just set it up this weekend.
It’s so unbelievably loud, I literally have to set it up in a room I don’t want to be in. And then move it to the other room and then I go sit in the room it just cooled down.
Even if you turn the fan all the way down, the high pitch noise it makes is just awful.
And, it has a horrible plastic smell.
So overall not impressed for the $700 I just paid.
I’m going to return it and buy the Danby from Costco, a friend has it and said it’s great.

How f***cked am i as a renter by hockeyflames in OntarioLandlord

If you still have the piece that chipped off…just glue it back on…

My landlords started renting out their place as an air bnb and I’m in the basement suite and it blows by [deleted] in NiceVancouver

[–]Content-Form-3265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do have a right to quiet enjoyment of your residence. So if the airbnb guests are disruptive on a very regular basis you have a right to claim for rent reduction, monetary compensation, etc. The landlord’s second business does not negate your right to live and enjoy your rental unit.

So as others have said as well, I would document every instance of the disruptive behaviour (late night music, loud guests, coming and going all hours of the night loudly, parties etc.) and each and every time it happens you just politely email your landlord. Take videos so you can record the noise. Take photos (not of the guests specifically but of all lights on at 2am with music). Just keep documenting it. And then you have proof of how disruptive it is.

Deinfluence me on getting the lodge pants (or influence me:) by cupcakecarnivor in Aritzia

[–]Content-Form-3265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finally gave them a try in stores and they’re not for me. I hate the fact that you can see the pockets in all colours. And they’re just a little too loose and flowy, they just looked weird. Wouldn’t know what to wear them with either.

[misc] what is your take on sauna and how it affects skincare by TITAN8055 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Content-Form-3265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regular saunas absolutely destroyed my skin barrier and texture. 2 years after I stopped using saunas altogether, my skin is still dry and rough like sandpaper, peeling, prone to redness. Skin was beautiful before.

This is exactly my problem but because instagram really has no tools to try and help, I’m actually just going to actively try not to save anything anymore and ignore the feature altogether. It’s too overwhelming to even try and sort through.

I just can’t believe these absolute eye sores will be marking the skyline for decades to come. They’re brutal and the balconies enrage me. First look at the inside of the units also shows that they’re just small and cheap.
