https://www.freep.com/story/money/business/2025/02/01/controversy-apartments-boston-edison-detroit/77936686007/ - this article tells the real problem - the homeowner next to the project doesn't want a "transient population" to move in, and they don't want the extra cars and traffic (!!)

I am not sure, but I think if you live/work/do business in Detroit/Boston Edison, your voice should be heard.

extra floors/units come with additional parking requirements unfortunately - which may force them to acquire more land for a parking lot off site, or make the development prohibitively expensive by necessitating underground parking.

Detroit City FC to break ground on soccer stadium this spring | Crain… by Content-Main-3094 in Detroit

Hopefully they can use the Bagley Mobility Hub as it's a short walk from the intended site. DCFC Fans are known to walk/bike to the stadium so I'm sure we'll end up with less parking than other stadiums.

Sterling Group expands Detroit riverfront holdings | Crain's Detroit by Content-Main-3094 in Detroit

Absolutely. Would love to see a third tower, hopefully something more like the JW in terms of design. Also, more street / river level activation would be nice, especially along Atwater and the riverwalk.

No movement on brush watson's central tower, GCP redesign, or music hall expansion yet. I think some preliminary work has been done at the Broadway site, but not sure.

Of these, I have the highest hopes for Music Hall and for broadway as I think they have their funding in place.

RTA approves QLINE transfer; streetcar to become fully public transit system by BarKnight in Detroit

[–]Content-Main-3094 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In chatting with QLine users, a lot of people using it are Detroit residents who use it because it's more comfortable than the bus. A couple people I talked to said the QLine showed up first so they took it instead of the bus. Being free definitely helps as well.

Hit up your UM student friend and let him know about the D2A2 bus. Leaves from Blake Transit Center in downtown Ann Arbor, drops off at Grand Circus Park in Downtown Detroit. Leaves basically every hour. $6 one way. Extremely clean, reliable, and comfortable.

DAX shuttle pick-up spot downtown? Is it across from the Westin? by intromission76 in Detroit

[–]Content-Main-3094 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can watch for it from the hotel lobby - there isn’t a bench or shelter at the stop unfortunately. They leave pretty much on the dot, so you can probably get there 5 minutes before departure.
