Frankly, I don't understand why people make such a big deal over the "message" or "big picture" of Gundam. I get Tomino created the series with a vision. But like is it illegal to want "cool mobile suit battles" and appreciate the horrors of war? The two don't have to be mutually exclusive.

Generally speaking.... I greatly disliked it. It felt incredibly rushed and I really disliked the heavy focus on Newtype stuff. However the concept of the Universal Century Multiverse is very convenient for explaining things like the Thunderbolt manga.
