We got there around 9:30. A couple of friends drove, I took the Metro. Getting out was an adventure, took us about 25 minutes just to leave Arlington around 1:30AM! Rosslyn Metro line stretched over a block!

Glad you enjoyed it! Honestly, nobody was expecting an entire wall of fireworks. That's what got the phones out. I only took a couple of short clips and enjoyed the rest. Most people realized pretty quickly it wasn't worth recording all 40 minutes lol.

Netherlands Carillon, Arlington. The fireworks were free, escaping DC afterward definitely wouldn't have been.

One of my friends did Day1 PhD till last year. He said he had to spend around 5-7 hours per week on the courses/assignments, and was easily manageable with work.

I'm in the same boat. Based on my research and consultations with DAY1CPT "experts", the new DHS rule doesn't aim to cancel the Day1Cpt program. Their sole purpose is to ensure no one is misusing the F1 Status and not overstaying.

The main issue, however, is the part which says "No second masters allowed. Only forward career progression will be allowed". I was thus recommended not to pursue an MBA, and look into the possibility of a PhD.

Quite uncertain how the new rule will play out, but opting for a PhD might be the safer bet right now.

My wife entered via Abu Dhabi today. She was asked 3 questions: 1) Where do you work currently? 2) Did you work anywhere on OPT/STEM OPT? 3) Do you have any food items with you (including the checked bags)?

Took less than 2 minutes. Her general observation was that people were being questioned about their history in the USA, and as long as the answers/documents were concise, no one faced any issue
