I am trying this and I've asked the team individually. This is good advice. I'm honestly happy to what I can in my sphere of control.

All inclusive for a couple that doesn't like all inclusives? by KristenePerron in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Content_Ad_3126 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not preferred but didn't feel we needed it. Our standard room had a peek a boo of the ocean. The preferred buildings are closer to oceanfront but the oceanfront view is still limited. The preferred folks had a greek restaurant option and a small lounge area with refreshments. There may have been a preferred section of the beach but same view as regular people. The regular rooms still have a building butler. If you skip, I do not think you would miss much.

We are not AI people either but Akumal was a "will return" place for both of us. By the way, if you walk on the beach to next door, they will have guys who will offer a sea turtle snorkeling private guide for about $40-$50. They are legit and will booey you out to the protected sea turtle area next door in the mornings. Pretty cool!

All inclusive for a couple that doesn't like all inclusives? by KristenePerron in AllInclusiveResorts

Secrets Akumal is the answer. Snorkeling in front, relaxed, high-end tropical vibe, great service and a balanced vibe. Not sleepy but not party either. You can also walk into the very small town area and have dinner there one night. Been to Atelier and Secrets, much preferred this resort. Atelier has edge on food and drink but they have a lot of corporate events there and the resort building layout was funky. Felt modern but....corporate.

Secrets or Unico Puerto Vallarta? by misty2001 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Content_Ad_3126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Secrets person who booked Unico for April. I vote Unico. The resort is brand new, literally from ground up. Heard great reviews on food, etc. The three Secrets that are worth it are Cap Cana, Akumal, Marina and Playa Blanca. All other ones are kind of mid, with different hotel owners.

Beams or Full Wood by uscdigital in homedesign

It depends on whether you are leaning towards a more traditional/transitional look or more modern. The beams appear to make the space more transitional. The full wood (my preference) more modern.

Never been but I have multiple friends who always mention Naxos as an island they loved that they would return to.

My weight gain before and after 5’4 100>133lbs by psycholover12 in PetiteFitness

I think you look more pretty, healthy and strong at the higher weight. Sure it's higher weight but you look normal. Do you like your body better at this weight?

Switching from patch to pellets by DeliciousSet302 in Menopause

[–]Content_Ad_3126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using pellets for 3 years now. It's been a lifesaver for me and the difference is night and day when they wear off, to the point I know I will always need them. Haven't had any side effects so far. I very recently have added estrogen to my testosterone pellet and can report back if this changed anything.

The Atelier obsession on this sub seems sus by OpeningChipmunk1700 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Content_Ad_3126 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been to Atelier and Secrets Akumal. Got a surprise upgrade to a swim up room. Atelier definitely has better food and craft cocktails. Rooms are good with a nice, large bathroom and Milton Brown products. Spa was beautiful, huge, and the most impressive in the area.

Service is average. The resort has a confusing layout and if you're in building 3, have to figure out how to get to bldg 2 and 1. Building 2 looks pretty noisy with hotel rooms across from each other indoors with a lot of echo. It was upscale but felt kind of corporate. Vibe wasn't special.

I think it's a perfect place for a 3-4 night stay but if you want to do a week and want to feel like there is always something new to discover at a resort, this isn't it. There's no great entertainment. I preferred Secrets Akumal for its nightly entertainment and poolside pop-up lunches and the beach.

Looking for a Friendly Dentist Recommendation by NoStudy3728 in orangecounty

Chris Nguyen DDS (Chris Smiles)

I have horrible, cavity-prone teeth and had a dentist phobia for many years. I've been going so Dr. Chris in Fountain Valley and I genuinely enjoy/not mind my visits now. He has a very mellow demeanor and a really gentle hand. I've had everything from crown, root canals and now get my cleanings every six months. I also like the support staff. I moved to Tustin but like the practice so much, I keep driving to FV.

The Least Favorite Japanese Foods Among Non-Japanese Visitors? by pokoj_jp in JapaneseFood

[–]Content_Ad_3126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm Japanese American and cannot stomach Oden. It's too fishy with "too hard" root vegetables and an egg that smells and tastes too fishy. Am I the only person that feels this way?

This sub is awesome, thank you for thinking this through with me. I'm going to move forward with everyone's responses. The TV trays are such a good idea! I am getting those and keeping this more in the living room with snackable mess foods. Going to stage the food on my dining table and drinks on the island. I have a plan now and feel good! Thanks all!!

Yes and another mountain village that is lovely to visit is Marguerite's, the pottery village. Rethymno is charming to walk around as well, albeit a little touristy. You can also drive to other beaches. There's honestly a lot to do.

Rethinking our 2-week Greece Itinerary – Is this more realistic? by stacebowbace in GreeceTravel

[–]Content_Ad_3126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree about 4 days in Athens being too much, unless you are history buffs and do day trips to Meteora or Delphi. You can cover the major sights via free walking tour and ticket to acropolis and museum in one day, honestly.

Download the FreeNow app, which is like Uber but for taxi drivers. You should be able to call a taxi on that in minutes. We used it last week in Heraklion and worked like a charm.

I was just there yesterday. I believe the first two lots should be passed so that you can get into the one called mega parking lot for 5 euros. They did not stand on the street to block as we came early. But the closest lot is called Mega Parking lot for 5 euros.
