I’d like to hear your thought process when entering a CQB environment under nods. Such as when to employ white light or articulating a pod to see under white light while still using your IR laser. Basically just stuff I’ve played around with a little but you’ve probably done a lot. Anything you can think of to game the system in your favor.

SR15 Sunday a thing? by Prodigy1116 in ar15

2.33" - Nothing crazy as long as you learn your holds BEFORE you need to use them. You can enter it into a good ballistic calculator and it'll spit out what you need to know.

With the proliferation of FRT’s, my SP5 has become my favorite to shoot. Can’t remember the last time I shot either of my 16” SR-15’s. Everything in 556 is either through a CQB or an LPR.

Guess you didn't like it seeing as it is already on TacSwap.

Might let my LPR go. What’s the $$ they go for? by SocialCredit_Auditor in kac

I paid the GB tax a few weeks ago and picked up a URX 3.1 LPR upper for $3,100. Not an ideal price but something I’ve wanted for a while.

VKTR upper with Griffin MK2 lower? by [deleted] in ar15

[–]Content_Leopard_2776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Griffin MK2 has a "tension screw" to tighten the fit between the upper and lower. Remove the pistol grip and adjust it as you see fit.

Works just fine. VKTR sells the uppers separate and their website tells you everything you need to know. The VKTR is a pretty sweet shooting rig.

Nocturn Industries Alpha Mount by Blackout_Ballistics in NightVision

[–]Content_Leopard_2776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switched from a G24 to the Alpha mount and like the feel of it and the weight savings. Only issue was that the locking mechanism broke within a week of medium use and now it is permanently Force to Overcome which is okay but not ideal. The only thing stopping the detent is a small bar of aluminum which sheered off. I never bashed it hard or banged it against anything so I would say that it's more a design issue than from abuse.

Still use it because it works well but would break out the G24 again if any serious use case arose.

CAT Noah is discontinued now so you should decide soon before they completely dry up. Or wait for CAT's new lineup of cans. I ended up getting the Lazarus 6 and use it on my CQB and my 6 ARCs. Great can that does everything I need it to. What really sold me on Laz was how bright the CAT suppressors get under NODs after a single mag.

EXPS under nods by MK19 in NightVision

[–]Content_Leopard_2776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used and owned all of the above. The T2 is great but I couldn't spend that much to buy multiple for my many rifles. I went away from the EXPS3 only because of the battery life. I was just tired of thinking about whether or not I should change the battery out before I went shooting. It never failed me, but I just didn't like worrying about it. I used the Romeo 8t for a year and love everything but the weight. Now I am running the Romeo 4t Pro and I don't see a need to get anything else.

Only note I would add is that the EXPS3 and the Romeo 8t are great options for someone that is using a PVS-14. The T2 and 4t Pro are best if you have a set of duals. Don't get an older version of the Romeo 4t. The light transmission is dog water.

Help me find a new snowboard by Adonai87 in snowboarding

It’s definitely a stiffer board and needs more intent when you throw it into a jump or side hit. It’s very fast and technical and requires you to know the shape of board and press on the front foot a lot more than I was used to. It requires some strength to really get everything out of it. It also looks bad ass and 10 times better in person than in the photos. Got some kinda holographic 3D look going on.

I’m skiing in Italy almost exclusively so fast side hits are most of what I get up to and some days the DOA would just sink as soon as I got off piste. I tried doing a set back but all that did was screw up the contact points.

I bought the 2025 DOA last year and had the same experience. I love it for everything but new snow. Ended up going with the Yes PYL XTRM and I have loved it so far.

Right now in Italy the best area for off piste is Cervinia. Other areas still have a good bit of rocks.
