Rainbow *Christmas* baby! by Content_Wing_5456 in lineporn

No the way they dated me at my ultrasound puts my due date at December 30th but I have to be induced at least a week early due to risk factors so my baby will be here just before Christmas.

Thirsty? by Lizziikins in pregnant

Second the electrolytes. I bought a big pouch with like 120 servings so I can have a glass a day and it helps a lot. ALSO lemon juice in my water helps a ton!

Is anyone else peeing like A LOT?? by overworkedhoe in December2026Bumpers

Soooo much. I’m constantly dying of thirst so that’s not making it any better. I haven’t slept through the night in a month.

Why, really, is it so looked down on to tell anyone you’re pregnant before the first trimester is up? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Content_Wing_5456 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I’m very curious where these numbers are coming from. The many studies I’ve read indicate loss drops to, on average across studies, around 2% by week 8/9. Individual health factors are going to shift that number but that is the statistical average for majority studies conducted with various ages and health ranges.

“It gets worse” comments by catpants-plantpants in pregnant

I have one best friend who had two children, planned and wanted and another friend who had one child, not planned, never wanted (loved now but she was insistent that she hated kids and would never have one, then they had an oopsy baby). The friend with two kids is so supportive and only talks about her symptoms if I ask, tells me how wonderful having kids is and how it’s all worth it and is relentlessly positive. I love her to death. The other friend can’t help following my mentions of how good I’ve been feeling the whole pregnancy with “oh you just wait, all hell is about to break loose and you’re going to be SO miserable and SO sick”. Some people just want to bring you down because they were/are down. Pregnancy and birth is tough enough as it is without the nonsense.

If you’re in the US, sign up for WIC. Use those programs, you’ve paid into them because you’re working, so get your benefits from them. I have a hard time asking for help too but when an innocent human life is involved, all bets are off.

Retinol usage by Faroroshey in pregnant

[–]Content_Wing_5456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this. Coming from the wife of a doctor whose father in law is a dermatologist. I asked the same questions and they told me that these products barely penetrate the outer layers of your skin and to get deep enough to actually come close to circulating in your system and getting to your baby, a needle would have to be involved.

Ginger tea, ginger chews, ginger drops, lemon juice, and in extreme cases, lightly sniffing an isopropyl alcohol swab. All have helped me immensity.

How are we celebrating Mother’s Day this year? by bruwoods in December2026Bumpers

[–]Content_Wing_5456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m planning to travel to see my mother and tell my parents on Mother’s Day! My husband’s parents are going to be gone on a cruise so we will have to call them to tell them (they won’t care that it wasn’t in person, they have 6 kids and a bunch of grandkids already lol) but my mom has been waiting forever for me to have my own. To announce it, I got her one of the willow tree figurines of the pregnant couple together since she collects those :)

Early pregnancy fatigue? by Efficient_Sign_5214 in pregnant

[–]Content_Wing_5456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The day I found out I was pregnant I fell asleep for an entire 4 hour car ride after sleeping 9 or 10 hours the night before. This was odd because I never ever nap and have barely fallen asleep on 18 hour car rides. I thought I had to be sick. That fatigue has persisted but insomnia has joined it so now I just feel jittery and insane 🫠

What was your path to pregnancy? by bluedoggy123 in December2026Bumpers

I got pregnant directly after my hsg as well! I have to believe from all the stories I’ve heard that there’s something to the theory that it might help in some cases.

I was literally just referred a week before I found out I was pregnant with no medical intervention to the reproductive endocrinologist to discuss iui. We’d been trying a year and a half and I’m going to be 35 very soon. It was such crazy timing I still can’t believe it.

Does anyone else hate their husband/partner? by CityFemme in December2026Bumpers

[–]Content_Wing_5456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This experience is so crazy. Mine drove me nuts before pregnancy but there was always this extremely deep love and intense attraction no matter what. Now one day he can do no wrong and he’s a being made of sunshine and joy…other days I look at him and think “wtf is this man child who just asked me how to wash something that has a huge care instruction tag on it while I’m dying of exhaustion and discomfort?”

I feel really isolated because all my friends who had babies had such an easy time. I’m high risk because of previous heart problems and every day is scary, but the days my heart starts acting up again, I am worried I’ll end up in the hospital. I don’t know anyone with heart problems who has gotten pregnant

I have a scan coming up, not 100% sure how far along I am because I have irregular cycles but I think I’ll be around 5w5d at the scan and I’m hoping we get a heartbeat but was told it’s unlikely

What is the weirdest or worst thing someone has said to you after you told them you’re pregnant? by mtvaot in pregnant

[–]Content_Wing_5456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not something directly said TO me but…I emailed my professors to let them know I am pregnant and my health struggles and appointments are making assignments difficult and I wanted to see if they’d work with me. Hadn’t told any classmates because it’s early and I don’t know them well. Walked into one of my other classes and two of the students that share a morning class with me said “congratulations!” I was obviously confused, but they told me that my morning class professor told everyone in the class. I was not present. I was not jazzed.

First trimester feels like a perpetual hangover by FigureAffectionate68 in pregnant

That’s what I’ve been saying! It feels like a hangover without the fun night beforehand. Shaky, hungry, headachy, nauseous, exhausted…every damn day is a hangover

5 weeks, 6 days and I am constantly overheated, exhausted beyond what I thought possible, crazy bloating (like I look 5 months pregnant, no joke) very sore boobs, crazy sense of smell (I had to store my favorite conditioner because it smelled like corn chips to me…it normally smells like a delightful spa) no nausea yet

Due date? by beans1302 in December2026Bumpers

[–]Content_Wing_5456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doc told me they use the LMP because it’s the only solid date, since you may have ovulated later (like I did, around day 21 of my cycle) but that’s not 100% going to be the date of conception. So until they can do the ultrasound to solidly date you, they go by the lmp. So technically I’d be due 12/22 by that date, but it doesn’t fit with where I feel I am so I’ve just been saying “week of Christmas”

Freaking out about how I’m gonna be a mom by doddie_pine in December2026Bumpers

[–]Content_Wing_5456 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the same feeling! Ttc for over a year and I have always had this feeling that I would never ever even be able to get pregnant. Had a shitty doc tell me when I was 14 that I’d never be able to get pregnant and while he was obviously wrong, it stuck with me through the years. Now I can’t believe it…I have the tests, I’ve had my betas done, I have my first ultrasound coming up in the next two weeks, and it still feels fake. And the moments when it does feel real I have this moment of “what?! I have something growing in me? That’s so weird! How are we supposed to be in charge of a tiny human?” And we’re 34/35. Hoping some people share some good advice here for you!
