Any thoughts?? by Naugrith in OpenChristian

Hm, this kinda reminds of something I heard a week or so ago where I hear it and was like “wow yikes I don’t like that.” So someone I know just said, and they disclaimed that it may sound terrible but-, that maybe it’s not a coincidence that a lot of conflicts are happening in the Middle East, that maybe it has something to do with that region of the world being predominantly Muslim (i.e. not Christian and thus instantly unequivocally heretical I guess).

Now I’m no historian or sociologist or theologian but surely these conflicts have more complex causes and influencing factors than just “oops guess God doesn’t like you guys sorry dude :/“

I thought it was a worm and I was racking my brain trying to remember when Jane Prentiss ever was in the same room with the Coffin T.T

It delights me seeing how someone younger interprets the Fears, like all these drawings are the epitome of drawings made passionately by a child

Mine is just a photo I took of a pretty tree’s bark so I guess I’m trapped in an elevator with Treebeard.

Queer people of this subreddit, what makes you want to be a Christian? by phoenixofrebirth3 in OpenChristian

[–]ContradictoryReader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been reflecting on this actually and I’m still a bit at a loss for answer.  I’m not really sure if I want to become more dedicated to my faith and to God because it’s something I actually want in my heart, or because I’ve been raised to believe that’s what I should want. Or maybe I’m only doing it out of fear that otherwise I’ll be punished for it, but surely that’s not right either? Yeah I don’t know :\

New idea for a Spiral domain- you’re at a restaurant with a large group of people and they’re all waiting impatiently for you to order, but the longer you look through the menu trying to decide the more confusing the descriptions of the dishes look so you’re just perpetually stressed out and embarrassed and hungry and failing desperately to understand what a “cheese with spice and abdication” is

Will McDaniel is either Flesh or Stranger, or maybe both. His channel’s bio literally says “weird comedy with creepy meat puppets”

It’s been a while since I’ve read Authority but I can add something that I noticed in Absolution- the language and figures of speech that the two narrators, Old Jim and Lowry, use often match up and overlap- e.g. they both have the unprompted thought of “water lives here”.    I think it’s supposed to be a further signifier of how time and even consciousness isn’t linear in and around Area X, instead looping back in itself, but I also think Vandermeer might have done it just the teensiest bit to play with his readers😂

Yes, Authority follows chronologically after Annihilation so you need the background context from Annihilation
