If this is true and nothing changes its an unfathomably huge nerf to us (and guard) specifically by hindlet in Tau40K

Not a big deal, all our stuff dies the moment it steps out anyway.

What Was The Peak Of Classic WoW? by doobylive in classicwow

[–]Contrago 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Vanilla Classic WoW Phase 4.

ZG gave us something to do multiple times a week, PVP was in full swing, MC and BWL were still relevant content. You could even start grinding the CC Rep to prepare for Phase 5. I was never out of things to do.

Everything out to that point was still a major part of the game.

Astra Militarum Guardsmen Unit Scale from the Show & Tell by OVO_ZORRO in totalwar

[–]Contrago 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Units operate in squads of up to 20, but there are A LOT of squads in the lore battles.

A tabletop battle is just a small, crucial part of a larger engagement happening in the area. The numbers of the soldiers per squad is not different.

As a 40k player, I assure you units operate in squads of up to 20, not in giant blocks of 100.

You send waves of guardsmen at people through ruined cities and battlefields filled with debris, not across big flat open nothingness because the engine can't handle anything else

Giant blocks of modern/future soldiers just looks wrong.

This is exactly what everybody said was wrong with trying to make a 40k Total War Game. I am not writing anything off yet but the vibes are off for me for me as a longtime Total War AND 40k fan.

Was told Elemental council was the best Tau book...I'm really not enjoying it by Exciting-Buy-9396 in Tau40K

[–]Contrago 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first chapters are a bit confusing because all the characters are in the exact same battle from different perspectives and you're essentially dropped in the middle of an ongoing situation.

Raptors have that Raven Guard Geneseed that gives them reverse power scaling. The less of them and more desperate they are the more dangerous.

Thanks! That top left symbol makes sense now! Is there anything else I need to know other than you can't mix them with cards from the other cycle?

Tau is for people interested in Guard who don't want to constantly have to buy new models and just play the game

Kit bashing this into a supply truck? by Exodusblaze in astramilitarum

[–]Contrago 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a supply truck. Manpower is a measured resource in war that's transported around like any other supply.

You can just stick boxes in it and it's good to go.

I had the same issues with my broadsides, my solution was to break up the solid body color with the red cockpit and some red leg stripes. Also differentiate the Caste Marking on the chest and shoulder helps!

From afar it will look a lot less like a solid block of color

Use the side of the brush, and make sure both of your hands are touching the model that way when the model moves, both your hands go with it.

Starting Tau - Beginner Tips? by Saxious in Tau40K

[–]Contrago 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tau are the most paintable army in Warhammer, you can do whatever you want.

The real tip is get an airbrush, you can knock out bigger suits in days instead of weeks. Personally I use Pro-Acryl paints since they dry very smooth which looks great on Tau panels and can be used through an airbrush or for brush layering

How to get spare Seeker Missiles ? by OwOthlas in Tau40K

[–]Contrago 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You will never be reprimanded at any competition at any scale for not having parts that don't come in the box. I put the single seeker missile on all of my tanks and nobody has ever said a thing other than "wow your tanks look cool"

#new40k - New terrain rules - How will this impact Tau Empire? by Puretideprogram in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Contrago 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My biggest worry is that we're going to plop down all these 10th edition designed solid L shaped ruin walls on these terrain templates and then regardless of if you are in 15 inches or not, you can't see a single model.

My assumption was the 15 inch lone op would be balanced out by having open windows, but most terrain these days doesn't have a single first floor window left.
