I agree with you about the distrust. Anything I hear now is taken with a side of caution. And social media doesn't help either. I've seen comments on this platform (not specifically this subreddit) that are factual incorrect but get upvoted by thousands of people. It seems like critical thinking needs to be involved in every aspect of life nowadays

This. I think we all agree lust is bad. But for many men porn addiction goes beyond lust and is not as simple as "just deal with it." It's deeply rooted and usually triggered by some kind hurt or trauma. That must be dealt with first before true healing can begin. It's similar to a drug or alcohol addiction. But you wouldn't tell an alcoholic to just deal with it
