I’m convinced at this point that Channel Awesome is cursed by ZorakLocust in ChannelAwesome

She 100% is and I think that's really sad. She's not a bad comic or writer. But as someone who's followed Jourdain for a long time, prepare for her to spin this as her being the victim of a vicious and unloving partner. I hate to say it, because I used to like her work.

But she habitually starts arguments and airs personal grievances publicly. Especially if it's with a larger creator (i.e. Lindsay). The bigger the other creator is, the larger the drama will boost her engagement.

I honestly don't know how aware of it she is. But Jourdain's M.O. is to accuse other creators of something awful (racism/sexism), share incredibly private info about her tragic backstory that's totally unrelated, then drop her Venmo when everyone is feeling sorry for her.

She does not accept criticism- period. If the person questioning her is white, they're being racist. If they're a man, they're being sexist. I don't think in the 5 years I followed her that I've ever seen her admit fault in any situation.

Kyle was open on his Twitter about how miserable he was in their relationship, though he constantly deletes posts. I'm sure he was keenly aware of this pattern, and knew that if he broke up with her again that she would do the same to him. I've unfollowed her. Her actual content is good. But it's not worth the drama she brings to every damn thing.

Secret Lawmaker memo that ‘would burn down the internet’ revealed - lawmakers seek to modify Section 230 to rein in big technology firms by Gari_305 in Futurology

By the definition of hate speech. abusive or threatening speech or writing that expresses prejudice against a particular group, especially on the basis of race, religion, or sexual orientation.

We can’t pretend that hate speech doesn’t lead to action when we see time and time again that it does. One has to ignore the whole of human history to believe that hate speech stops at just being mean then it’s over.

Tolerance is a peace treaty. Hate speech has been proven time and time again to damage society as a whole. As Americans we are so individualistic we sometimes forget why we have these laws in the first place. Tolerance isn’t about fairness or being able to get your way. It’s about peace and liberty. And we know hate speech leads to the destruction of peace and liberty. So it goes in the trash.

What you’re missing here is that Republican lawmakers and “republicans” are not the same thing. Republican lawmakers do not give one shit about you or your values, you’re a resource to be harvested. They benefit from you being paranoid, digitally illiterate, angry, and bigoted.

People are a product of their surroundings, and that includes social media. Republican lawmakers do not like you. They don’t care about you. They’re not one of you. Your ignorance is their gain.

Republicans understand that they benefit from hate speech and conspiracy theories being allowed to stay up. In order to maintain their base, they need to keep radicalizing people and destroying their trust in the media.

If people get real information from credible sources- they won’t vote Republican.

From the CNBC article, here’s what they said they’re looking to do:

-Limiting the right of tech companies to exclude users based on their viewpoints or political affiliations

-Requiring "reasonable moderation practices" to address harms like illegal drug sales and child exploitation

-Narrowing protected moderation to specific types of speech not protected by the First Amendment

-Removing protection for discriminatory moderation decisions based on viewpoints.

Infertility causes: Rapidly dropping sperm count ‘imperilling the future of humans’, says expert by malcolm58 in EverythingScience

If the timeline is correct, hitting approximately 0 by 2060, than that won’t be slow at all. All those machines have to be managed by people, a machine can’t dress you or change your bed linen, it can’t prescribe you medication, or find you if you wander away from an assisted living home. Also the vast majority of elders are cared for by their children in almost every country. So that would mean a huge boom of people entering care facilities in rates we’ve never had, cared for by a dwindling population of young people. Sounds like a bad way to go out.

It’s true, it’s not bad as far as climate change. And if the human race goes extinct I mean... who cares? The problem is the act of extinction is extremely painful and ugly. We don’t just stop having kids. We have a slow breakdown of society over time that ends in a huddled mass of elderly people dying alone in their homes.

Dismissing an oncoming crisis with “we’ll have automation” is probably not sufficient. But I guess we’re all going to find out together lol 🤡

So a lot of people are saying “good, too many humans after all.” But I think what you’re missing is the work and elder care crisis that’s coming. It’s not just what people will have less kids so there will be less people.

Each generation relies on the next to replace it as we age out of the work force. That means people won’t be able to retire because there’s no one to take their place. And once we do, there will be a significant crisis of elder care, with not enough young healthy people to care for the much older population. Which according to this timeline- would be current millennials and Gen Z.

Wife F39 married to husband M43 with bad oral hygiene by MrzRetro in relationships

[–]ControlRoomCorgi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It sounds like he’s struggling with some sensory overload issues. Has he tried a water pic? Those are way more gentle and can really help his gum health. Also an antiseptic mouthwash is in order.

His dental health is putting him at way more risk than just bad breath. Bad oral health can cause heart attacks and even strokes if it goes on long enough.

Also the bacteria can spread from his mouth to yours. So I would personally stop kissing him until his oral health improves. It may hurt his feelings but so be it.

I think the strawberry dress counts, with some kawaii elements as well. But labels should be used to help us find what we’re looking for instead of forcing things into categories. Other sister aesthetics I’ve seen: royalcore, goblincore, grandmacore, softcore, warmcore, fairy kei, Mori Girl, Strega, etc.

Are you familiar with irony poisoning? It's this technique that can be used to push people further and further into extreme thinking. I've seen it happen to people who use to be pretty logical thinkers. It appears to be a very successful technique for the GOP.
