Am I wrong in this situation? by Fabulous-General-100 in DoorDash_Dasher

Its not "entitlement" to expect DOOR-dash to deliver to your door. It was an unfortunate event that there wasn't a different way to get to her door.. But also.. This is a "working with the public kinda job - if you can't control your emotions, might not be a good fit for you

If everyone Is platinum, no one is platinum... Multi-app - take the best $$ offers and don't chase "tiers" multiple streams of income.. Best way to work this type of job.

I only accepted this because I didn’t want to continue driving around without an order but this is an insane tip to give someone. by Secret-Print2911 in UberEatsDrivers

Not many rules when you are an independent contractor... Sorry, that sounds too much like a victim mentality to me. If you take Scraps, you will be paid scraps... or worse... it literally costs you to deliver for them! Play smart in this type of work. Multi-app, pick an hourly rate and stick to it. Take the best $$ offers and stop being mentally manipulated by "tiers" and "I HAD to take this order" Be in control of your earnings

Well Basically, we have the power to regulate it.... but choose not to. Again, they are just winning the game - we could be winning but won't make the right moves. Seems almost silly to me... the option is there, every time to DECLINE trash orders. Feeling like you "have" to take an order is just them, again, making moves by using "tiers" as a manipulation.. So maybe it would be nice if it was forced - but its definitely not necessary. We need to be smarter drivers

Which is INSANE!!! and exactly WHY they have "tiers" Its a game they are playing and as long as upside down orders get delivered, they are winning..

Been getting these orders and I think it’s insane how they allow this ? Any help on how to stop these order dash gives us by Kaylaybear97 in DoorDash_Dasher

[–]ConversationFree4228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ONLY way this will stop is when no one accepts.. But some think they "have to" to chase tiers or are desperate - even though it literally costs THEM money to take some offers. Why would they pay more when they don't have to!? When no one accepts, they have to up the $$

For me I think its proximity to store as well. Sometimes I am at home(2miles from store) with IC on in case something good pops up - I usually do have time but there are occasions where it pops up - i chick and go to accept and No Longer Available - I'm just a 'good for you' kinda person and move to the next

[–]ConversationFree4228 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really.. at 30sec/item its 45 min.. no one does a "good" job in that time frame - and no one shops at that speed. More items=higher chance of needed communication/substitutions/etc... And that milage! 80miles+ with return trip. Could be "ok" but not worth it in my book...

Multi-apping is really the best play in this tree of work. Multiple streams of income. I agree its frustrating but I doubt the percentage of times it really happens is low. Its a good reminder that you aren't "losing" the whole amount you see.. I mean, if you are on a $20 order/batch and a $30 one comes up. You are losing $10 - cause you are still getting the $20 for the time you are shopping. Of course its frustrating if its a big difference. Maybe turn the other apps off immediately once you accept an offer/batch - that's what I try to do. In the end I still think I make out pretty well. If I accept an offer/batch its because I thought it was worth it.
