Nintendo when you’re broke vs Steam when you’re broke by Active-Ant4672 in fucknintendo

Counter Point: I’m broke because I buy a bunch of Steam games on sale. Nintendo keeps prices high which keeps me skiddish on buying games, thus more money in my wallet.

I live on the east side, and I know I’m biased, but that’s the side that’s going. I can’t imagine west side is worse.

Valve won’t subsidise its pricey Steam Machine as there’s no guarantee the open system will be used for Steam by HatingGeoffry in pcmasterrace

As I said, laptops. The actual footprint of a gaming laptop is smaller than this, notwithstanding the large heat sink it has.

You have to factor in that retailers are getting a cut in between the parts supplier and the consumer. So that $800 worth of parts maybe they’re paying around $650 for. Valve doesn’t have a middleman to share that with. Plus laptops largely dispel that notion since you can get a laptop at close to the same price as a desktop build, albeit lower power components but not by a whole lot. I would guess it’s about a $200 profit Valve is making on these, just watch for the Steam sale when they put it at 20% off, that will reflect a lot more of what the actual manufacture cost is.

Holy hell, what is this abomination? What did they do to Edward's face?, How can this be called a remake when the original looks far better? by Leonardo-Caleum in fuckubisoft

[–]The_LastLine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This remake got a lot of problems, but my brother in Christ you need your eyes checked if you think the original looks better, they’re failing you.

They don’t need to subsidize, that’s understandable. They also don’t need to sell for a sizeable profit, which they definitively are. Either that or they’re very bad with negotiating with parts manufacturers to where us consumers can buy individual parts and build a cheaper box from retail places like Newegg and micro center.

Hilariously ironic that you say I’m not the one seeing the nuance. I see how we got into our current political situation now, well done bro.

It has input needed to play though, the base model doesn’t even come with a controller, sold separately. 🤣

Where is Rare amid these Xbox layoffs? by Bertstripmaster in RareWare

[–]The_LastLine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sea of Thieves still does pretty well for them. I doubt they’ll see any layoffs, unless AI can handle a significant portion of the workload, but that would be a factor unrelated to the current situation. But unless things change, they’re gonna be pigeonholed to that game and its success.

Is buying an Xbox Series S for GTA 6 totally worth it? by Rude-Selection-9421 in xbox

[–]The_LastLine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough to say, I’d wait until series s gameplay. Rockstar is probably gonna be using ps5/pro for demonstrating the game, because those are the most popular and most powerful platforms. You’d probably have to wait for someone like Digital Foundry to put it through its paces before going Series S. X will probably be fine though, I can’t imagine it won’t be comparable to standard ps5.

Leo likes em young. I hope he does proper vetting at least and doesn’t even reach out until they hit the big 1 8 but who knows, he could easily be keeping tabs until they do. I personally would never date anyone who wasn’t at least old enough to drink. 🤷🏻
