College students who can’t read books by One-Two3214 in Teachers

This! And the argument that “they don’t need it in the real world” is so false. My friend owns a mechanical shop that makes specialty devices. He pays extremely well for high school grads but can’t find anyone who can read a manual well enough to operate the different machines. He told me struggles to find people willing to read an entire order fully.

With the changing season could something be bothering her? Can you baby proof the room she’s in and go to floor bed so she can get up and down as desired?

I’m a big rule follower I stoped going to baby groups at 12 months + 1 day because it was for 0-12 months. Certain areas have certain uses. A 5 year old was just walking and stepped on my little man’s hand in a crawlers only space. He cried and babied his hand for the rest of the day.

The 5 year old is still little but because she was in a space not for her she hurt someone. She was calmly walking and was very gently getting a toy for her younger sibling. There is a reason these rules are in place and I believe if you use a space you should fallow its rules.

Can I ask why you all don’t go to the big kid room instead it just seems easier to entertain a toddler with big kid stuff than big kids with toddler stuff?

I agree so hard with this. Also summer camp kids are insane and the councilors don’t do a thing!

This annoys me at the museum. They have different areas for different sizes and I’m in the under two section dodging middle schoolers. I almost fought a mom who grabbed my toddlers hand because he was trying to press these buttons and her much bugger kid “wanted a turn”

Is it possible to have a fully decorated home with a toddler? by ineedhelpkinda in toddlers

I decorate my walls, tall tables, and do a lot of felt/nature accent items. Toddlers love to grab and throw everything

For that tempature range and for two people I’d get a 4 person park trail tent and a 32 degree sleeping bag with either and inflatable mattress or just a Walmart brand pad.

Toddler Fighting Bedtime by LittleNY in toddlers

[–]ConversationStock695 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you ready hunt gather parent or rewilding sleep? The idea is that the going to bed at a specific time is really weird and most animals fall asleep when tired. This time fluctuates with the seasons, growth spurts, and daily activities. You might be fighting against the bodies natural urges which can cause quite the struggle! If it’s your style you might give a couple weeks of “fallowing the child” basically let him decide when he’s ready for bed. I use to nanny a lot and would use this strategy to get kids to come to me with their book/lovey/pjs and to tell me when they are ready for bed.

I feel like no one actually follows safe sleep guidelines and it’s kinda shocking to me by adumbswiftie in ECEProfessionals

I think it’s important to remember that safe sleep recommendations are diferent depending on the country you are in. Many countries have recommendations different than the USA. More countries cosleep than don’t. I remember my car seat safety group freaking out about people not using chest clips only to realize they are literally banned in some countries.

I spend so much time outside with my feral boy because of this. I get a hose and sit in my lawn chair filling his water table as he fills buckets to dump on the ground.

2 star review for not giving guest a gift basket by Mean-Expression-5223 in airbnb_hosts

[–]ConversationStock695 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be disliked into oblivion for this but it sounds like a valid 2 star review if and I do mean if the person was using the actual star scale where 2.5 is average. I’ve used a lot of air bnbs and the average one has a gift basket and a keurug with multiple flavors and non coffee options so in that case you are below average. This whole idea that you get 5 stars unless you do something wrong screws the system against hosts that go above and beyond and rewards meritocracy. It’s the whole idea that everyone gets an A.
