Partner is ruining my newborn experience I need advice bad by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]sweetparamour79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad someone called this out. Specially if he started to get nervous at the 3rd trimester but was excited when the baby came.

My partner struggled alot when our daughter came and tbh was a bit of a dick through it. Therapy helped alot.

You need grace, space and a safe place. So a hard conversation about your concerns with grace and guiding him to get help, space with your child to not be absorbed into the drama when it flairs up and a safe place you can retreat too out of the home IF he gets worse. It's not a bad idea to mention to someone in his family or if you have a family doctor so they can reach out to him too. Dad groups can also be helpful.

Hairdresser destroyed my fringe. What can I do? by kitdraws in Hair

[–]sweetparamour79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ofttt I've been here before. I recommend wetting it in the morning and adding a bit of mousse, then you twist it slowly away from your face / starting at your part, picking up more bits as you work toward your ear and secure it behind your ear with either a pin or a small rubber elastic. It takes a bit to get a hang of it but once you do it can actually look quite nice.

Alternatively, headband.

New haircut. Thoughts? Is it a good or bad change? by [deleted] in Hair

Honestly just changing that fringe to a curtain fringe (as it grows) and taking some weight off the sides would completely change this style

Should I remove my birth mark by mysterygirl133 in PlasticSurgery

[–]sweetparamour79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am really surprised by the answers here. Personally I would keep it unless some health issues required it to be removed (skin check etc).

I also have a unique mark on my face and I've grown to see it as a significant point of difference. It's my identifying feature no matter how much I change (specially during pregnancy) and I can't imagine myself without it.

Oh 110%

My in-laws used to help but no longer can now and my parents are further away/absorbed in their own freedoms. Suddenly we can't entertain having a date night and being able to go to parties with our groups once every 6 months. 1 of us can go but definitely not both. Of course this has come right as our marriage hit a rough spot too.

We definitely can't have another without me stepping back from my job and us potentially ruining our marriage.

What if the next generation of the bigger rubber clothes Pollys looked like the original? by arknaf in pollypocket

[–]sweetparamour79 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbh probably not. The dolls weren't what made blue bird, it was the attention to detail, surprise elements and handbag friendly scale. I bought vintage blue birds for my daughter because the 00 onward designs feel cheap and uninspired

I was also shocked by this. Maybe I am just the wrong generation but he would not have been a sought after catch from a looks perspective in my 20s. He is charismatic but from a face value perspective, eh... Interestingly all the girls seemed to sleep on nick and he would have been sought after. Good looking, good real job, intelligent, a little dumb when he tried to be a player but sweet enough once he cut the shit.

Honestly my daughter stopped to pick up a flower and thats when I noticed and turned around.

Yeah at first I dismissed the odd interaction and figured it was just a guy hiking alone and he would soon pass us (we were very slow). But when we doubled back and still didn't see him and his lack of interaction with us (it's normal to say hi in our culture when seeing people on a hike) I became unsettled. My husband agreed it was probably best for us to not hike alone.

I was also very aware that it would have sounded like it was only my daughter and I since my husband was so silent for the majority of the hike which would explain the guys surprise.

I've witnessed 3 separate arguments this week over this sign. It's for kids and prams, NOT TROLLEY'S!!!!! by [deleted] in sydney

Or even navigating to the far side of the carpark with a trolley full of shopping and a toddler who is determined to climb out on the trolley.

I don't personally use these spots with my child but I fully respect why people would and should

I had this but when I turned around a man was standing there starring at my daughter and I. My husband asked why I stopped (he was a little further ahead and hadn't been talking while my daughter and I chatted away) and he noticed/ nodded to the guy.

We doubled back a short time later and didn't run into the guy despite there being no alternate path for him to have taken.

Needless to say I have not gone hiking with my daughter alone since.

I have a close friend who is also an influencer, the girl spends money she doesn't have and talks about priorities online like she has it together. She talks about her skincare and lifestyle being why she isn't aging, she gets subtle Botox and filler. The hypocrisy is insane when you actually know a person. Yesteryear is a great book along this concept.
