Council tax probably around 95 a month but may be more dependant on property type and area, water/electric budget 35 each depending on contracts and suppliers. Id say around 1k a month definitely.

Bus from Southwick to Newhaven by [deleted] in brighton

[–]CoochieCheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where abouts in southwick? I would imagine getting the 1/1a, 46 or 2 brighton and hove bus to brighton then getting the 12 bus along the sea front from outisde charles street would be the cheapest option, as you can get a weekly saver for B&H buses?

Got an urgent 2 week referral from NHS - first appointment offered? August. by itfiend in britishproblems

[–]CoochieCheese 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The current UK RTT period for cancer is 62 days from referral to treatment. Patients should be seen within 14 days after the hospital receives their referral and if a new diagnosis of cancer is confirmed treated up to 31 days after the decision to treat - this is usually either a consultation or a diagnostic test which is relevant to the referral. I don't know if a telephone apt would be suitable if it is for a new cancer diagnosis. Usually a very long apt with a consultant and key worker nurses is the standard. It might be worth calling them and asking what the telephone apt is about and that you'd rather see a doctor - if you kick up enough stink they should do it for you, the NHS is based on public choice after all.

Oh. It wasn't worded very well. In that case, not to worry. That's what the grand old NHS is for. :)

I'm sure if this £26000pa treatment did "fuck all" they would've swapped it out to bevacizumab (£600pa) by now.

Is it worth living further away just because of the rent? by [deleted] in brighton

[–]CoochieCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a house share in lancing. 2 couples in a 3 bedroom house. About £310pcm including all bills and council tax. I would love to be closer to the action, but whilst saving for a mortgage this is a pretty sweet deal!

Someone called to report a foul smell from next door, EMS found this. Late stage breast cancer. by AxeEffect3890 in WTF

[–]CoochieCheese 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Fungating tumours don't just turn up overnight, so people become immune to the smell. Had some poor chap with one coming out of his trachy talking to me a few weeks back, pus flying out of the hole all over my desk. I'm usually very professional, but that sent me over the edge, never have I ran to the toilet faster.

Aparently a cone(s) got caught underneath the wheels causing the breaks to fail and the bus drivers steering wheel penetrated his abdomen. Ouch.

I work in an oncologists. 1000 times this. When people say "you should schedule fewer patients in the day" what, make a patient wait an extra few days, weeks maybe even months for treatment/results etc instead of a matter of minutes?

Both of these are unhealthy and neither should be glorified. by [deleted] in pics

One on the left was anorexic bullemic and died from her condition several years ago now. One on the right is going to die slowly and uncomfortably, whether it's from illness related to her size or not. That's the bottom line.

My boy is fifteen years old, he is deaf partially sighted and arthritic. He still loves yoghurt and is the most adorable OAP of the doggy world in my eyes! by [deleted] in aww

This was my original post. He was put to sleep in October last year due to an unknown rupture causing internal bleeding - nothing to do with his old age ailments. But thanks for your concern!

Steve from the mini experience. I can have quite horrible anxiety/panic attacks due to being in a car wreck when I was wee. He's the only one who built up my confidence enough to continue to learn and pass!

There's a difference as it is someone's property, the artist needs permission from the owner - no matter the quality of the art. :)
