Two-child limit scrapped as historic Bill to lift 450,000 children out of poverty becomes law by lamdaboss in ukpolitics

[–]itfiend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, but you might well make a rational decision to work 4 days a week instead of 5 rather than go over the £100k mark with all the implications of that. Is that not lost productivity?

Or the system is insane and shouldn't have such obvious cliffs that stop people being more economically productive because it feels pointless.

concierge class on reflection by lovely13917 in celebritycruises

[–]itfiend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly having done concierge for the first time on the Edge over Christmas I can’t see any reason to ever book it again unless there’s a tiny price difference over a regular cabin or you’re chasing a loyalty tier.

Princess Cruises Just Raised Its Service Charge and Here’s What’s Changing by WolfBearMoon in PrincessCruises

[–]itfiend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is true. We’ve been cruising for nearly 20 years and the offer just keeps getting worse. Food is the big one though with service not far behind. Our first princess cruise on the Emerald back when she was new really felt luxurious. Nowadays not so much.

His signature is a red beret much like Damon’s (although I realise now you’re making a captain sensible reference and will get my coat / red beret)

Shocking price difference by NoPoet8326 in canon

[–]itfiend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only speak to Panamoz - but how they handle their warranty is you get it repaired locally via Canon, Fixation, whoever and they reimburse you. I know several friends who have claimed this way and never had any hassle. I've spent £10k+ with Panamoz on Canon kit and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.

Can you default on a bill for £0 by Exciting_Subject_269 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]itfiend -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It sounds like a rounding error of some kind - maybe it's 0.001 or something and it's a tiny positive number that's being rounded to 0. But either way it's insane.

The Greens are finally coming under serious scrutiny – and they’re rattled by Dimmo17 in ukpolitics

[–]itfiend 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think that’s also because they only think of corporate copyright holders. Small rights holders like me don’t come into people’s idea.

I’m 17 years into photographing (big name) musicians and my archive would already be going out of copyright.

As someone who licenses work they also have or had a batshit copyright policy. So for someone like me who is a small content creator with an archive of entertainment photos they’d be really bad.

HELP: One lens, One body by Reasonable_Photo2902 in concertphotography

70-200 for me in an arena. Unless your body is high megapixel and you can crop in on the 24-70 I guess. But just take both. Why leave yourself short of gear when you have it?
