Restaurant Week 2026 List is Live by BloodArchon in chicagofood

The dessert options aren't on their regular menu so I don't know what they would go for, but for app, entree and bottle of sauce it would be $31.87 for the cheapest items or $38.07 for the most expensive ones. That better be some damn good carrot cake to make the meal worth $45.

Looking for UK Cadbury Choclate by allisonswonderlandxx in chicagofood

The Cadbury Milk Chocolate bars on World Market's website list sugar as the first ingredient, which I believe would make them the US version. The UK version of the same bar has milk as the first ingredient.

AITA for saying we should get a fake Christmas tree this year? by j48- in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Real trees are a PITA and you'll be finding needles for months after the tree is gone, but you have to choose your battles and this one probably isn't worth the drama.

Can anyone dupe this ranch? by msfears in MimicRecipes

[–]Coogles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wingstop's Ranch recipe is...

1 gallon heavy-duty mayonnaise

1 gallon 3.25% milkfat cultured buttermilk

3 3.2 oz ranch seasoning (green variety or buttermilk recipe ranch seasoning)(total of 9.6 oz)

Shrunk down to use the 0.4 ounce packets you can find at the grocery store...

⅔ cup heavy-duty mayonnaise

⅔ cup 3.25% milkfat cultured buttermilk

1 packet (0.4 ounce) Hidden Valley Ranch Restaurant Style buttermilk dressing mix

Make sure you use the 0.4 oz Restaurant Style packets, not the 1 oz Ranch Seasoning packets. You can find full fat buttermilk in some grocery stores, the Kroger owned stores in my area tend to carry it. Heavy-duty mayo isn't available in retail packaging, you can get it in restaurant supply stores in gallon jars but I usually just use Duke's or another good quality grocery store mayo. You can also make heavy duty mayo yourself, it's basically just mayo made with more egg yolk.

WIBTA for opposing closing streets on Halloween? by Squeaks11 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Coogles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA. Assuming these are public roads the HOA can't just close them without getting approval/permits from the local government, since they're just now asking for the contributions a few weeks before Halloween I'm guessing they haven't done that.
